Thunderbird Club

A little eye candy I saw on the internet…should please a lot of staunch Gibson/Fender only!
Color is beautiful and Tele neck doesn’t look out of place and compliments the body.

I think the Tele neck does look better than the standard Fender headstock on the Thunderbird body. Hmm...

Why does the band member with the largest instrument usually get the least amount of space? Ha!
I miss all that fun and commotion squeezing in a spot not big enough for a band! What’s the name of your band?

Sunday night in downtown Sausalito (Marin) ... tiny stage - I stood on the floor! We had the whole night and did 3 sets to a healthy crowd. (well, as a matter of speaking that is!) As if drinking in a bar was 'healthy'...

Took my TC Electronics BG250 1x12" due to the space constraints, and as usual - it sounded great! This is a fun photo - it 'appears' that my orange sparkle cab-stand is hanging off the stage! Oh well, I thought it looked funny... Went full cheap wireless with great success. Especially in tight spaces, not having to stand on guitar cords all night is huge! "Beam of light" is my flash energizing reflective tape on my power unit. "Beam me up Scotty!"

Very "old school" Marin bar. (note painting with the Golden Gate Bridge! - classic!)

As is always the case, there were a few dead-beats hangin' around the bar. Gives the joint a bad name lettin' these low-lifes stink up the place in their fine establishment.

OK I looked at your pix on my Computer (much bigger than iPhone) and I see it's Bond Girl. I'd like to hear the back story on that some time! I love the older Bond movies.

Live is the real test. I found a number of strings that sounded good at home, but kind of disappeared live. Boomers held their presence and didn't vanish or sound hollow live.

TRVTH.
And while I know they don't work for some (like those whose fingers they attack in an autoimmune-disorder-like fashion), EBCFs do that for me.

I really wish we could set up and do a sound check on our gigs, but they don't pay enuff to make 2 trips and the crowd is already there when we're setting up. Also, we are our own 'sound man', so there's no going out front to hear what the crowd hears.

That's what long instrument cables (or wireless rigs) are for.

I deal with that every time I play through an ACC amp. Standing in front of it isn't all that loud, relative. Pants are flapping, but whatever. Back by the bar, guts are liquefing. Going wireless means I can do a sound check back there and figure it out before somebody turns into jello.

Which gives a new meaning to "jello shots".

People keep track of likes here?

People keep track of most anything that involves numbers. Tb at one time didn't didn't have "like" as an option. Along with expressing that you like/approve/support a post, the button has been used like an acknowledgement more. Like, "I read what you posted", whether you like it or not. It's why it's odd to "like" something sad or that you don't like - used like that it signifies you acknowledge what was posted. Needless to say to most familiar with social media - but it's also there if people don't want to post a reply. (fast and easy)

My post doesn't mean I don't care what I sound like. I try to do the best job I can within the limits I/we face. But I've also come to the realization that much of our audience(60+y/o)only cares that we play songs they know and like and that we aren't too effing loud.
Of course it's always 'fun' when someone hears us playing 60s/70s covers then asks if we know any Ed Sheeran. Um...no.:banghead:

"Yeah, I know a couple of Ed Sheerans. You mean the guy at the gas station or the one who owns a hardware store? Oh, wait. The homeless one near the VA hospital?"

I can't stand the Tele hs shape. I s'pose when I'm used to this

the Tele looks 'puny'.;)
What year is your T-Bird? The only ones I ever see are the ones with the wood edges like this?

This band is Cherie Lebow's Bond Girl. I didn't mind being on the floor, but so was my vulnerable pedal board! Luckily there was a small round drink table that I used as a traffic-cone so no issues. We'll be back in a few weeks so I'll need to think of how I can minimize the chance of someone tripping over it!
