Thunderbird Club

Sunday night in downtown Sausalito (Marin) ... tiny stage - I stood on the floor! We had the whole night and did 3 sets to a healthy crowd. (well, as a matter of speaking that is!) As if drinking in a bar was 'healthy'...

Took my TC Electronics BG250 1x12" due to the space constraints, and as usual - it sounded great! This is a fun photo - it 'appears' that my orange sparkle cab-stand is hanging off the stage! Oh well, I thought it looked funny... Went full cheap wireless with great success. Especially in tight spaces, not having to stand on guitar cords all night is huge! "Beam of light" is my flash energizing reflective tape on my power unit. "Beam me up Scotty!"

Very "old school" Marin bar. (note painting with the Golden Gate Bridge! - classic!)

As is always the case, there were a few dead-beats hangin' around the bar. Gives the joint a bad name lettin' these low-lifes stink up the place in their fine establishment.

is that the place across the street from the elephants? what’s the place called, if that one there was a great bassist last I went there (pre-covid)…..she was playing an old P into a V4 and her tone delish….
great pics G!

Victor is also on the "there are no wrong notes" train. In many cases you can just treat it as a passing note and do something with it. Yesterday during rehearsal before church, we got several key changes (different leader, different vocal range). The easiest one was transposing from E to A; I just played everything one string higher. Until I didn't.[1] But I finished that verse five half steps low, and it sounded fine and intentional.

[1] This is a song we play frequently; I know it by heart. I got a little too into it and my muscle memory went into Total Recall mode.
You were just playing lower 5ths intentionally.

TRVTH.
And while I know they don't work for some (like those whose fingers they attack in an autoimmune-disorder-like fashion), EBCFs do that for me.
I confess, they did sound great on the white VP. I sure would have been happy if they worked out. I just still wanted my fingers after playing. Must be allergic to that Plutonium 238 in those strings. :smug:

Maybe you should try more lead in your diet.

(Note to literalists, those with a limited sense of humour, and paranoid conspiracy theorists: that was a radiation physics joke, not actual advice. Nor was it a firearms reference, a threat, or anything other than the stated type of joke.)

Evidently, i need to get on the practice routine Ellen uses.....

:wideyed:

That always reliable website Scopes said this is all false and no such kid even exists.

OK, that's not true. Just my hurt feelings that someone didn't begin teaching me bass when I was 3 months old in the womb.
EDIT: I see Miles and I think alike. Poor Miles...

All my stuff is for sale in the classifieds.....

Looks like a nice little place.

This kid kills me! I’m completely conflicted every time I watch her play. She is so good, so light hearted and up beat I can’t help but smile. Until I realize she’s doing things on bass that I can’t and making it look easy and fun.
At times like that I need to turn to my inspiration, Victor Wooten, who is noted for saying…
“I don’t know why you are all so hung up on notes; I’m not in the notes section, I’m in the rhythm section.” - Victor Wooten.
I play rests exceptionally well.

I didn't get either comment, course I dismissed them just about immediately without a thought. I thought yours was funny though..... until you explained it.
