Also, she's really smart and a hoot! It's nice to have her interacting a bit more.

This band is Cherie Lebow's Bond Girl. I didn't mind being on the floor, but so was my vulnerable pedal board! Luckily there was a small round drink table that I used as a traffic-cone so no issues. We'll be back in a few weeks so I'll need to think of how I can minimize the chance of someone tripping over it!

Yep. And it gets really distracting at about 100 feet. The Shure wireless has about the same lag as a cable. It's the sound waves and the lag between when the sound comes out of the speaker cone and when it makes it to your ears all those feet away.

I figure the best tact is to have my pedal-board parallel against the edge of the stage and just face the stage when I need to hit a pedal. I really only use triggered effects on a couple songs songs, along with occasionally tuning so that's probably what I'll have to do. Being on the floor can be fun - a couple times last night dancers were grooving to my bass-line facing me - gettin' down on the low-end!

The lag at 50-60ft isn't from my wireless unit. It's the bass sound travelling through the air reaching my ear 50 milliseconds or so after I play the note.

This kid kills me! I’m completely conflicted every time I watch her play. She is so good, so light hearted and up beat I can’t help but smile. Until I realize she’s doing things on bass that I can’t and making it look easy and fun.
At times like that I need to turn to my inspiration, Victor Wooten, who is noted for saying…
“I don’t know why you are all so hung up on notes; I’m not in the notes section, I’m in the rhythm section.” - Victor Wooten.

I didn’t notice the control plate until you pointed it out. My translucent black doesn’t have one. Of course mine has neck through so no Tele neck for me but I like the neck she already has.

This kid kills me! I’m completely conflicted every time I watch her play. She is so good, so light hearted and up beat I can’t help but smile. Until I realize she’s doing things on bass that I can’t and making it look easy and fun.
At times like that I need to turn to my inspiration, Victor Wooten, who is noted for saying…
“I don’t know why you are all so hung up on notes; I’m not in the notes section, I’m in the rhythm section.” - Victor Wooten.

Victor is also on the "there are no wrong notes" train. In many cases you can just treat it as a passing note and do something with it. Yesterday during rehearsal before church, we got several key changes (different leader, different vocal range). The easiest one was transposing from E to A; I just played everything one string higher. Until I didn't.[1] But I finished that verse five half steps low, and it sounded fine and intentional.

[1] This is a song we play frequently; I know it by heart. I got a little too into it and my muscle memory went into Total Recall mode.
