3 Dog Night were the 2nd band I saw live as a teen in the late '60s. "One" was the current Top40 hit. You may not like their LA 'showbiz' sound - but they were incredibly talented performers as displayed in this vid. "White Soul", similar to the 'Vanilla Fudge' of the same period (east coast compared to west coast) and they both put on a powerhouse show.

watch on YouTube...

Wow Bob Wow! This is the 1st time I've seen this vid - AWESOME! Tim Bogert (my #1 fave bass player then) leading this many times covered rocker including a deep-digging fuzz-bass break! Yes! :bassist:

Of note: sub-titles read "do the dirt now" ... it's do the
jerk now. (dance-step) Also.., very un-PC topic for a song (gun/killing related) but this was considered "normal" for that time. (think "Down By The River"...) Anyway - Tim Bogert was thee man (on bass) then, and Carmine Appice was John Bonham's inspiration as a rock drummer - fact.

They're paralleling the output channels? I can see why someone clueless might, but yikes.
yeah, interestingly these are tube precursors to Roland’s Jazz Chorus concept…..very specifically thought out and very versatile in the right hands…..unfortunately the genpop never understood how to use them….

I'm all about stupid low action.
I'm not that heavy handed player i used to be.
Besides, i like letting the amp to do the work.
For me, i find it much more tonally pleasing that way.

I'm the same, but sometimes I find myself digging-in for a specific song. And yes - letting the amp do the work.. totally. I read an insight by Sting, who said he likes having to play harder to push through/behind the amp. As in, his settings are under-voiced so that his articulation has to 'push' the output above the amp. I get that and I go both directions - either soft articulation/upper gain amp, or the reverse. Depends on the song.

finally tuned it up and plugged it in….if it’s the factory setup, bravo!…..had forgotten how articulate Arteks can sound if properly eq’d…..MASSIVE low end…..unlike on my IV the tuners keep good tune and are pretty smooth….wants a wider strap if the (mild) neckdive would be an issue….never really bothered me…
heck of a lot bass for the money….:hyper:
