Thunderbird Club

finally tuned it up and plugged it in….if it’s the factory setup, bravo!…..had forgotten how articulate Arteks can sound if properly eq’d…..MASSIVE low end…..unlike on my IV the tuners keep good tune and are pretty smooth….wants a wider strap if the (mild) neckdive would be an issue….never really bothered me…
heck of a lot bass for the money….:hyper:

It's a good day to get a new bass that exceeds expectations.

We would see/hear Nels regularly in SF. He would play often here and this is what we were hearing - we knew then how special/unique he was. He is hands down my favorite living guitarist - full stop. There are other recordings older and newer - but this one always kicks serious avant-jazz/rock ass.
Same here re my feelings about Nels. I’ve explored his other material and enjoy it. But somehow, I always return to his solo in this:

3 Dog Night were the 2nd band I saw live as a teen in the late '60s. "One" was the current Top40 hit. You may not like their LA 'showbiz' sound - but they were incredibly talented performers as displayed in this vid. "White Soul", similar to the 'Vanilla Fudge' of the same period (east coast compared to west coast) and they both put on a powerhouse show.

Agree! There is some fantastic bass playing on some of their songs.
