Still pending... we basically have the same audience... but a Sunday late afternoon show is pretty laid back, so like...whatever...

That's pretty much what I would use one for. That and Eb for big band situations. In fact those are the only 2 notes below E that I play on my 5er.

I don't have a five string, finally, for that reason. I like my two regular players, so they both got Hipshots. Low D is plenty of subterranean vibe for my taste.
Sometimes I'll hear a dude with low B and he gets stuck down there. It's like, "Hey look at me- dig my low-B string!..." and meanwhile I'm contracting a major case of Ear Fatigue (pronounced 'Annoyance').
Going that low, for me, has to be a novelty you might hear once a night. Ok twice.

I totally agree. I've designed/built a very cool 5'r but never use one myself. I've enjoyed rocking one in a jam-session, but have never used one for my bands. We don't play the music that 5'rs were written for, and I've never had anyone come up to me saying "gee, I wish you played a 5-string..." I feel it depends of the music you are playing - some music demands that low B. I like it - I just don't require it.

I had one in a Portuguese band for a few years. Still, could've gotten away with the Hipshot...

I just got a Boss BCB-1000 in a trade this week. Depending on the pedals you have, it might hold all your pedals depending on their size, but fitting your powersource could be a whole different thing. The only access hole for the powercord in is the top left side corner, which forces an angle before the connector to the brick. Right at this moment, I'm having a hard time fitting my TrueTone CS-12 under (it is a rather large brick) and probably will have to drill a hole in the back panel. Not really considering changing the ps, TrueTone stuff works well for me.

Did a real motorcycle "add" sonic interest at 2:20 or was that a triggered effect? Looks like you guys were the "youngsters" there!

Nice- I always liked that tune. A local cover band in Miami used to play it, a regular act at Rollo's down by South Miami, maybe you've heard of the infamous Rollo's Lounge...

Yeah, it was real. Lotta bikers comin' n goin'. All age groups at the dealership. Note my "Vespa" T-shirt.

I knew of Rollo's, never went. I lived in the northeast section(N.E. 2nd Ave/46th street). Did know the Par-Tee lounge down south.

So glad you're happy with it! I'd love to see the settings you're using.

FWIW… This works for me, playing a Greco, CP, or VP with (usually) an acoustic, an electric, and (sometimes) a djembe, plus vocals (and rarely, keys). Styles range effectively from soft ballad to rock, with occasional ventures into light jazz, old fashioned hymn, R&B, or Christmas carol - but even those we change up a bit. No flamenco. So far.
