Thunderbird Club

Well, sometimes we do get a dusting at close to sea level...

There was talk of possible snow in the Bay Area but we got off & on rain instead. It's been unusually cold so maybe some snow on the top of Mt Tam, Mt Diablo or Mt Hamilton - that has occurred over the years.

In the East Bay it was a lot lower than the 3000-4000 foot level of those mountains. We are at about 500 feet.

This was when the first hit and were big, around Surfer Rosa - her parents are from Ohio (possibly Dayton) and were back stage. Kim looked like she was possessed with her eyes rolling back in her head as she played her repetitive/hypnotic bass-lines. She had a very unique way of phrasing.
It really is too bad she and Black couldn’t get along well enough to keep them together.

TSC's will be performing here this Sunday at 8pm - The Hotel Utah in SF, built in '08 after the '06 earthquake/fires. Folklore has it that upstairs was a brothel at one time. Played there a few times with different bands over the years, but not for years. It was closed during Covid and has new management. In the mid '90s they had a music series called The Dark Circle Lounge on Tuesday nights and I went every week. It was where I first saw/heard Nels Cline. It's a cool place to play - very old-school SF. (pic's from Wiki)

When I get back from India, I’m going to put together a list of when everyone local is playing and get out of the house.

New cab day:

An old UK made Ashdown ABM115. Sounded gigantic with the Hiwatt and ABM410 stacked.
I also tested it briefly on it's own with the Lab Series L2, very nice. I must do an A/B with the 4x10 using both L2's. I have a hunch that I might like the 1x15" a bit more. If that's the case I could see myself swapping the 4x10 for another 1x15.
