It’s going slower than anticipated with all the other priorities at home right now, but progress is being made. I hope to have it temporarily wired up this weekend to test a few different control options, might post a progress pic then. Once the controls are settled it all gets disassembled and the body gets shipped to one of two guitar finishers for a metallic gold mist poly finish.Rubbing hands in anticipation!
That’s a lot of snow! I lived way up in the Colorado Rockies at a little over an 8000ft elevation for a few years. I’ve seen plenty of white stuff, but I gotta say as pretty as it looks I don’t miss dealing with it.The latest forecast for our mountain place:
“Between 2 and 5 feet of snow is expected, a figure that could even reach 7 feet above 4,000 feet, according to the National Weather Service.
Six to 12 inches is expected between 2,500 and 4,000 feet, and 1 to 6 inches is expected between 1,500 and 2,500 feet, the weather service said.
The storm is also bringing rain to the Southern California coasts and valleys, and strong winds are in the forecast for the mountains, foothills, coasts and valleys.”
Our place is at 6,000 feet. I’m glad I’m off the mountain.
That’s saying a lot. That BaCH was easily the most resonant bass I’ve ever owned. Unplugged it sounded almost like an acoustic bass.New Nut Day!
It may be my imagination, but the bird sounds more resonant with the Tusq nut…
.
For whatever reason, it made me think of the Pixies. This vid was about the same year I saw them in Dayton Ohio - lived in Cincinnati then. Had a 'back stage pass' through a local college radio DJ friend.

We have room, y'know.

Not normally a 'green' fan, but that's cool. Just in time for St. Pat's Day, too. There's a green NR in the Mod Shop.

Those are the recent DeCola pickups. They are fantastic pickups. Somebody will be happy with those.
That color is a stunner. To bad it's a NR. Actually, not really. I don't have the cash floating around to buy it. It gives me ideas about what color the fretless 'Bird really needs to be.There's a green NR in the Mod Shop.

I don't, but then I could measure one. It's not like I don't have one to measure, between the '15 Thunderbird and '13 EB. Only problem is that I get distracted and don't get around to anything.Does anybody know the dimensions on these? Asking for a friend
It's really nice. Curious what that blemish is from between the bridge and the pickup. Looks like maybe they drilled a hole in the wrong place (ahem).I like it! Already have 4 green basses![]()
Always love some Pixies and Kim!
