Excellent price in these crazy times. With shipping at only $125; I guess that’s because it doesn’t include the case? Someone in SoCal could sue with a local pickup….There is a '15 on Reverb for what is now a pretty good price. No connection.

My band comes over and it's "you bought ANOTHER bass?"C'mon Irv, we're all certifiable here.![]()
My band mates are always telling me that. I don’t know how to answer anymore. EheheheMy band comes over and it's "you bought ANOTHER bass?"
All great scores!I think I’m infected with Thunderbird GAS. I ordered a now rare to find Classic Pro for 375€ new. And closed a deal in a Gibson 2008 Thunderbird for 1250€ with case. Am I going crazy??View attachment 5007027View attachment 5007028View attachment 5007029View attachment 5007030View attachment 5007031

I’d consider the latter to be more crazy than the former. Most likely improved since the employees bought the brewery.Looks almost brand new.
oh my, what do we have here……paid 50 bucks…..NOS tubes alone are worth at least five times that….to think all you needed was the RCA manual and a supply of tubes to build a couple of hundred of these a month and make a decent living…..”Industria Argentina”….long gone days….. these sound exceptionally good (well)…..

Indeed. You must have conviction that you are doing the right thing. No rational person goes fearlessly into combat.
That was probably the week that they labelled them... correctly.I'd have to dig through the pics on my PC to be sure, but iirc, mine were labeled "rhythm" and "lead", presumably for neck & bridge, respectively.
......found the pic, Thunderbird Club thread page # 7989, August 2020.......

Are there any distinctive things to look on the TB+ pickups to see which one is for bridge position? Or should I just measure them? Don't have a meter at home so...
Sounds normal to me.I think I’m infected with Thunderbird GAS. I ordered a now rare to find Classic Pro for 375€ new. And closed a deal in a Gibson 2008 Thunderbird for 1250€ with case. You are trying to use logic on Gibson. Wont' work.Make it with colors other than burst, black, or white and there is a pretty good chance Gibson would get some of my money.
So i measured the nut on my bolt-on Epi thunderbird and it’s a 1.5”. It’s from 2012 and made in Indonesia. It’s the one with a rare dark neck. I tought every bolt-on had a wider nut, and I can’t find another dark neck like mine. So do I have something special in my hands? Ehehehe what do you think?View attachment 5007009View attachment 5007010 View attachment 5007011

Fun track. My brother used to run his Ducati there until his wife put a stop to it.I did a 2 day track weekend at Buttonwillow in SoCal on my VFR750F. Counter-clockwise on Saturday and clockwise on Sunday. Really learned a lot that day and it was a blast. They always run races counter-clockwise.
Oh my. But aren’t those the licensed Hipshots and not the USA ones? Saved what, 50 bucks? But I would still buy one in a heartbeat.David Kiswiney shared these pics with me.
Gibson's master builder Jim De Cola built this beautiful Thunderbird II for him.
The neck is not a nine ply laminate. But three piece mahogany.
The machine heads are Hipshot Ultra-lites.
It also has the Rex Brown Active boost via a push/pull switch on the tone control.
At the request of David the lower strap button was placed off-center, for better balance
Gibson should be taking these into production! They'd have a real winner in their hands.

Yes you do. I’ve heard anecdotally that some Goths have 1.5 nuts. But they’re pretty rare.So i measured the nut on my bolt-on Epi thunderbird and it’s a 1.5”. It’s from 2012 and made in Indonesia.
