Quite possibly a hint at slight potential improvements for a future two piece Gibson bridge. It’s not at all like the Epiphone two piece once you take a close look at it.It looks like the saddle screws, at least the end towards the tail-piece, look different to me..... maybe some slight improvements for use on Gibsons?
Gibby vs Eppi

The outside corner radius on the hard tail is larger on the Gibson (good idea). The saddle screw assembly on the Epiphone is not countersunk like the Gibson appears to be (not sure what advantage that has if any, extra machining and non shared components isn’t normally a good cost saving move). The individual saddles appear to be more narrow (right to left) than the Eppi saddles with more air gap between the saddles (interesting, maybe leaving room for a five string variant?). And very importantly, the anchors on the Gibson have once again been placed incorrectly for proper intonation - they are too close to each other. The bass side anchor screw head is in the E string saddle path, that saddle isn’t going much farther back that it already is (not a fault of the bridge design, but a fault in the installation). Edit: this might not be an issue, the angle of the photo makes it hard to tell for sure, but it looks very close.
Kind of a mixed bag, but certainly good enough, better than the three point, and a big step in the right direction.
