I was wondering about that too. Would they need to do that if he was using drop tuning with floppy strings maybe? I would hope the saddles were cut correctly and the neck had no issues.

On a related note, do you know if the new Gibson NR uses the exact same pickups as the Epiphone VP? Or did Gibson create something new for the NR?
