Cherie must have a spectacular voice to pull off those songs.
She most certainly does, but something special happened between her closing down the band for a few years - she's developed into a really dynamic performer. As a front-woman/BL, Cherie was always shy and reserved, even to the point of being awkward on stage. Now, she owns the stage and it's contagious - we are all performing at a new level. And when we are firing on all cylinders - our audience feels it and it lifts the whole room off the ground. We felt it last night. And most of the crowd wasn't 'our people' (we probably had a dozen friends & family attend) so most of them heard us for the 1st time.
I needed to leave after a few songs of the 2nd band, who were really good - original rock, very different than us. That's what's so cool about Winters' (thanks to CJ) - no theme/restrictions/parameters - just a night of rockin' good music of any and all genres!
