Working on it behind the scenes.
Even if only for a visit, can you say, GTG?

Just watched a doc about the '64 New York World's Fair and how Seattle had one in '62, and all the politics surrounding it. The world governing body chose Seattle (they were 1st) and wasn't supporting NY's because it was too close in years to Seattle. NY went ahead anyway and being about 4x's bigger - it wasn't fully completed in time of the opening had huge financial losses. A tale of ego, money and politics.

Ok poison squirrels - here's that Sat night Winters' Tavern/Bond Girl live-stream I mentioned. 3hrs+ long (!), so basically an evening in Pacifica! I love having this document as the opening scene is driving down the chicane into Pacifica to view the sunset. That very scene got me to want to live there many years ago. You can scroll through as much as you want - our full show (warts & all) starts at 49:27 and goes to 1:40:03. Aside from mangling my bass break :bag: on "History Repeating" and hitting a brown note at the end of "Never There" (note to self - always play the correct 1st & last note...) I did ok! :) Luckily for me - the camera-man was facing my amp so my bass comes through loud & clear. (headphone help) Also cool cause' I can watch/hear the other bands!

It was fun watching our friends arrive and you can see how windy it was as the heavy front doors kept blowing open. My Beth carrying Mona came in at 1:04:38 (note NO DOGS ALLOWED INDOORS on the front door! :)) and they became live-stream celebrities at 1:07:37! Mona noticed my mistakes and suggested I clean up my act... :bassist:

I've seen that bass player before somewhere. Pretty sure he's "somebody." :smug:

Certainly is around here.

Enjoyed what music I had time to listen to. Even enjoyed the drive.

I want this Firebird, anybody got 60K spare change?

I had $60k of spare cash in my wallet yesterday. Doesn't everyone? But I spent it. Dammit. And if that's a V8 car with a manual transmission, I would want it, too. The GTO convertible behind it looks pretty good, too, once it has an engine and hood.

I had a job as a night janitor in a trucking company maintenance shed. It was union and paid very well for the time. It was miserable. On the way home, I would stop at a White Castle across from a Timken bearing plant and buy a buck's with of sliders. Six of them, as I recall. That was the fuel I needed to get the rest of the way home and get through a day. Sleep wasn't really a thing while I had that job, but White Castles will always be a favorite. No matter how awful they are.

Krystal in the south. I remember when the sixpack was a buck. I ate there on occasion just because it was a decent amount of fuel for the price. But that was after I was down to working in a print shop, mostly at a desk, but occasionally throwing around 100+ pound bags of mail. When I was working in a factory (no A/C and most fans broken), we'd go to McDonalds at noon and I'd have two Big macs, a large fries, a large shake, and a soda. By the time I got home at 5 I was starving again. A Krystal sixpack wouldn't have made a dent in my hunger then.

What was the last year for the CP? Mine is a 2014, but no idea how long after than they stopped making them.

According to Reverb, they were discontinued in 2020, which makes sense because as I was looking for them in 2021, they were still in everybody's inventories but 'on backorder'. I'd take that with a grain of salt, though, as Reverb also says the line started in 2015, but somehow, 2 of the 3 I've owned were 2012/2013.
