Thunderbird Club

And the dancing is cool. I have demoed the dancing at home and my daughter is scared to death that I will do it in public. She was mortified when I did the floss at her elementary school and it gave me the credible threat that "Dad might just be unstable enough to do this".

I have always loved that song, used to do it years ago and the singer really hammed it up.......and I learned a new dance tonight!

I was considering getting a 4 ohm Genzler 410 cab as I could bring it here on the plane, it's light enough plus they have six 3" cone tweeters which are supposed to disperse the highs very well. I've had so few gigs here though I can't really justify it.

great box… the Ashdown in the pic is actually 4x8…rated 500Watt @ 4 the thing BARKS…..in combination with the “pillowness” of the underpowered (inefficient) MB 2X10 (800Watt @ 4) makes for a delight of a rig…

Yeah, they're close to 2 grand now though.
I run my SVT head in the apartment here sometimes too. The walls and floors are all cement in these buildings out here and I can actually play it pretty loud and no one can hear me with the door shut.

I know you have a budget. But get that thing fixed Mike. Your Thunderbird will be much more valuable for it.
I don't actually have a 'budget'. That would imply that I

which I don't.

Que es 'justify'?

love SVTs into non Ampeg cabs…especially when driving 2 Ohm….

Funny thing is I am not much of a fan of SVTs, and of all the Acoustic heads I ever had, a 370 was my least favorite. But the 370 sounded great through an Ampeg stack. The opposite of what you have discovered, but I sure liked it for a brief moment.

TBH, on its own the bridge pup is so weak, IDK if it's not 'sick'(as in ill, not 'cool'). I've just left it in there to cover the hole. I don't think removing/replacing it would lower the value of the 'Bird any more than it has already been lowered by the body damage, headstock re-attachment, etc.
UPDATE: tried the bridge/superfluous pup a while ago, same settings on amp, each pup volume full:
By itself-weak and bottomless
With neck pup-cut neck pup output by ~1/2
Neck pup only-there we go.:hyper:

I took my daughter to see the original Wiggles. Three of them retired after that. The blue one has needed to keep working to pay for the divorce resulting from an affair with one of the dancers in the show...
Not sure that is correct, it could be conflated with some other things that happened. Not that I’m a Wiggles tragic.
Of the second set of Wiggles, yellow and purple went out and then got married, then divorced. One of both of them then went out with dancers from the show. Blue (Anthony Field) is/was married to a dancer though. They have a few kids themselves. I haven’t heard that they have divorced and I think it would be pretty big news here. But my kids are way older than the Wiggles audience now.

I do like that Anthony now plays bass. At one time a Maton JB IV and now an Epi Thunderbird.

Odd. I had an L4 head (200W 2 channels) that I gigged with around 1980. Other than being loud, I never really liked it much, yet it seems lots of folks sing their praises. I must have been missing something....

I have an L4 too ('though it needs new caps at the moment) and I prefer the L2. It's lighter and about as loud and I always used the second channel of the L4 anyway.
They should sound the same but I still think there's something different (better) with the L2's sound.
