There are beetle infestations in high altitude forests in Colorado that would be controlled by harshly cold winters. There haven't been temperatures low enough for long enough to control the population, and as a result, trees are severely compromised. The result of that is brutal wild fires. It's endless. I'll stop now to avoid climbing up on a soap box.

On the bright side, I've only used the snowblower once this year, and I'm waiting for it warm up enough to plant palm trees in the front yard.
