Thunderbird Club

Had a little chat with my Gibson contact and I got a few tidbits out of him. Epiphone has something that should please Vintage Pro/60's Thunderbird fans, I can't really say anything more than that. He wasn't aware of Decola's 2023 Thunderbird II, most likely a one of but never say never. The Newport will be getting Gibson branded D'Addario strings and set ups will be fine tuned. All I got for now. I'll keep you posted.
Wish they would offer the ‘21 NR pickups in the pickup shop.

Thanks for the suggestions and I'll be looking for the 3 point setup info. I dont think I'll make any adjustments until I swap out the current bridge.
Or?

That custom II was really exciting, I would likely burn my @$$ just taking my wallet out to pay for it.

There’s an outside chance I could possibly be at the early August GTC, maybe. Depends on how the wife is doing at the time*.
If nothing else, I might be able to temporarily donate a couple of basses to the mix for folks to noodle on.

*For those concerned about the wife, she’s actually pulling through the cancer challenge quite well. We’re in chemo for the remainder of this week, which will wrap up round four. If progress continues on its current path she should be out of the woods after the next round of chemo three weeks from now. Many many thanks to all those great club members around the world and their friends that put in countless prayers, well wishes and positive thoughts on her behalf. :)

We’re not done yet, but at least the light at the end of the tunnel is getting much much closer and it doesn’t look like an on-coming train.

This truly is the best community on TalkBass! Rock on!:bassist:

If I can drive down, I'll bring 'Birds, of course, and either the original 360 or Grexa reissue. Probably not both. I may be a knuckle dragger, but I'm not that big a knuckle dragger.

Tell your contact that if they build a DeCola Thunderbird II in colors other than black, white, and burst, they have a chance to get some of my money, depending on the colors. I'm sure they will jump right on it.
