Thunderbird Club

I picked up some interesting things yesterday.....one was un-planned (and Thunderbird related!), the other had arrived much more quickly than expected.....

1)
Found this on craigslist yesterday unexpectedly, for a good price ($25!), from an Epi eb-0.......

.... everything but two of the inserts, which the seller had re-used for a Hipshot.

Important information, for my purposes, that I found out - the tuners are easily reversible in a few seconds, turning a 2x2 set into an inline-4 set

B)
This is not really Thunderbird related, so feel free to ignore this part if you like :)

I ordered this stuff on 5/22, it shipped 5/23, and arrived yesterday morning, 5/25 :hyper:

.... it's for the bass in the pic, my '96 sr1200.
I'd tried to repair the original electronics, but parts of it had been too damaged by previous owners :banghead: , so instead of trying to find good condition originals, I decided to just replace it all with an EMG set, that gives the same functionality as the original.

Thunderbird content)

:D

The video is really funny too, perfect for the song

Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Make you want to holler hi-de-ho
Burns your tummy, don'tcha know
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Grape wine in a Mason jar
Homemade and brought to school
By a friend of mine 'n' after class
Me and him and this other fool decide that we'll drink up what's left
Chug-a-lug, so we helped ourself
First time for everything
Mm, my ears still ring
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Make you want to holler hi-de-ho
Burns your tummy, don'tcha know
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
4-H and FFA on a field trip to the farm
Me 'n' a friend sneak off behind
This big old barn where we uncovered a covered-up moonshine still
And we thought we'd drink our fill
And I swallowed it with a smile
Bllll-bbbb, I run ten mile
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Make you want to holler hi-de-ho
Burns your tummy, don'tcha know
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Jukebox 'n' sawdust floor
Sumpin' like I ain't never seen
And I'm just going on fifteen
But with the help of my finaglin' uncle I get snuck in
For my first taste of sin
I said "Lemme have a big old sip"
Bllll-bbbb, I done a double back flip
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug
Make you want to holler hi-de-ho
Burns your tummy, don'tcha know
Chug-a-lug, chug-a-lug

You forgot about boating and the occasional sinking of said boat due to ignorance or beer...or both. It's what the holiday is all about......

There have been enough problems that Austin has banned (powered, I think) watercraft on the lakes here for Memorial Day weekend.

Wow! If I wanted an SG, that would be perfect.
I wanted an SG, but the one I wanted has six strings. It came home with me a while ago and was pretty battered, as an SG should be. It's a bottom of the line Gibson that sounds just like every other SG ever made by Gibson or Epiphone.

I learned all his songs that hit the radio, starting with "Dang Me" and this one (I was 8). Mom or I would randomly start singing something we knew from the radio and the other would join in. She bought the album after this one and within a week we'd played it enough to sing all the songs from memory. Roger wrote fun songs.

(I thought this dropped in 1964.)

It may have been 1964, yup you're right, just looked it up, 1964, just changed it. It said 1965 under the video, I should know better than to trust them.
Dang me, another great one

The great Bob Moore played upright bass on most or all of these.

Dang me, Dang me,
they oughta take a rope and hang me....
Hang me from the highest tree....
Woman don't you weep for me.
