So true. Brings back great memories. I don't think the old (real) SBL ever failed to get you to crack up about something. They should have stopped at least a couple decades ago IMO.

There definitely were low periods, Joe Piscopo comes to mind... but as it's gone on forever, it keeps bouncing back to appeal to the current young audience watching. It really is an institution.

I love the spin-offs from the SNL cast.

Yeah, Bottom of the Hill is the best stage I’ve been able to play on in the last many number of years. Bad Lemon did a Sunday afternoon thing there shortly after things started opening up after the worst of COVID.

I like the Utah also, fun little place to play, good sound even for a louder rock band. If only my car doesn’t get broken into. It’s happened twice out of the 9 or so times I’ve played here.




Have fun! Bond Girl was there (Utah) last Saturday night.

Actually men's undies have vastly improved, and I can't help but feel lycra cycling shorts were partially responsible. (new comfy/stretchy materials other than cotton and an active/sports conforming fit) Not really that much different than ladies undies other than not having frills or lace!

Live music had to go, Might return come October. Prolly not. We were on an every third week Friday or Saturday rotation. Oh, well. LSTYD.

The owners had been told there would be a substantial increase in their "ASCAP tax/fee". It wasn't worth it to them. Not for the little extra that live music brought in.

crazy.here today….47th annual wharf to wharf going from SC wharf to Capitola wharf….bands setup along the 10k trail….last year’s winner was an Ethiopian marathon runner…..pretty unique event….

Yeah, pretty much. There are ~4 venues we used to play that either haven't re-opened, or have with very limited live entertainment-like karaoke or "live"(?) DJ's*. Their patrons ask about the lack of live music, but don't really care that much.(these are mostly semi-private joints such as VFWs, American Legions, Elks Clubs, etc., but even the 'open' places have cut way back)

*I've never understood the term "Live DJ". WT7? As opposed to Zombi DJ?
