Anything north of Monterey bay is NorCal. Monterey to Ventura is considered Central Coast. Draw an east west line through Fresno from the eastern border to the coast. That’s based as much on sports teams allegiances as it is anything else. LOL - ask a hundred different CA natives and you’ll get 100 different answers. Perfect. It has to be remembered that the original artists can also benefit from a local band doing their music. No telling how many times a "bar band" did a song and was asked what it was because someone liked it and may not have heard it before. The original band may have just gained a new fan.
