Bridge noir…
Ok not so much.
I think someone here had mentioned, after I had said I would be putting a Babicz on my ‘95 which had a Hipshot on it, they might be interested in my Hipshot Thunderbird bridge.
Not sure who or if it is the one they wanted, but here it is…
In terms of a psychological thriller - Hitchcocks "Rope" is my most favorite. Allegedly based on a play called "Ropes End", which was based on a 19th century essay about crime. But it also was referencing an actual murder case in 1924. Because of the lurid and controversial nature of the crime, it was met with less than praise at the time.
Michael Powell's (another great British director) 1960 film "Peeping Tom" went one step further than Hitchcock and was banned for years. Peeping Tom (1960 film) - Wikipedia I'd suggest these would be a good couple of 'movie night' films to watch back-to-back, starting with Rope as a primer.., that is, if you like twisted psychological thrillers.A third would be "Crash" - David Cronenberg's film from '96, based on a 1973 novel by J.G. Ballard - great soundtrack by long time Cronenberg music director Howard Shore.
Seen Rope a number of times, great flick. Lots of dialogue and minimal scene locations. Pretty much the whole movie was shot in one room of a house.
Haven’t seen the others though.
Little known fact: he played bass for "The Doors" on their live gigs.

Yes, mid '90s Peavey B-Quad w/24 'fret' carbon fiber neck, 18v pre/piezo bridge/stereo and with a variegated black-gold Gildaxe finish. One of the most sophisticated Peavey's ever made. Neck profile is one of my favorites, reminded me a lot of my '64 T-bird II. I sold this bass a few years ago to a B-Quad enthusiast/collector.

Did a pickup difference and placement comparison between these. The Telebird has the neck pickup in '64 position and while it isn't that much closer to the neck than the P-bass pickup the difference in sound is quite noticeable and I think it would be even if it was in the exact P-position.
The clips are dirty and heavy handed just because I think those basses with those pickups selected sound great like that. And the riff was first that popped into my mind so there you go.
Both Teles have only the neck pickup on.

Just got home a little bit ago.
I competed the clean up portion of the set up.
This one is clean,mean and ready rumble machine.
Is sounds wonderful with a new set of Roto’s

Anyone here running Schaller strap locks?
I have what appears to be three sets that have been removed Bass purchases over the years.
I’m a Dunlop guy so they are of little use to me.
I would like to gift them to someone in our club and cover shipping to the US.
If they are not Shaller locks let me know.
If there are more than one interested party I will pick names out of a hat.

Interesting. The Telebird was darker than I expected, for some reason.
The Tele sounded almost Squire-ish. Cool tone.
Without musical context, I think I preferred the Pbass. It had solid lows and crunch and bite. Yet not a bad tone with any. Keeping in mind that recordings are not always good indications of a real/live sound.
Ha! I was actually looking to order a set of buttons for my '76. All other basses are good to go, but I changed straps for Thunderbird usage and forgot a set for the '76. I appreciate the offer, but it's not worth your time and postage.
