Thunderbird Club

I’d much rather be in SC than Croney Island right now.
Happy Sunday fellow TBird freaks.

and I am smiling :laugh:

Gotta love ASCAP. Kill the geese. Pretty soon there won’t be any more eggs, let alone a golden one. Music industry people really don’t get that it isn’t 1985 any more.
How right you are. If it were my little world I’d redo ASCAP so that 50% of proceeds went to the originators of the music, 10% went to administrative fees for the foundation, with the remaining 40% used to compensate bands that are keeping the specific songs alive by performing covers - as long as they announce or have posted who did the originals and suggested albums or playlists where you can get those originals.

I like it. The world is yers.

Wife’s health permitting, we will be in Monterey (Pacific Grove) in November for the Lighthouse 5k run. Should be fun. Haven’t tried the Warf to Warf but that route is beautiful.

Clothes were worn during the photo shoot..Thank goodness for you all. :)
Come on, remove the plastic from the control cavity cover. You can do it!

That is absolutely stunning. Now I think you got the deal of the year so far in our club.

I wanna hear more about that J/MM/J bass! Three pickups are very common in the guitar world but not so much in the bass world. So what’s the control layout? How does she sound (she looks great!)

Tagima, brazilian made.
Body = poplar
Neck and fretboard = maple
Controls = v/v/v/t

Launched as TJB PX4, I suppose on 2015 or 2016. Name changed to JMJ4 (maybe on 2017 or 2018); discontinued on 2019 or 2020.
Mine is JMJ4, bought new, on 2021 (when I realized they were disappearing on stores; and I really dig his color and unusual pickups configuration).

From 1:24 to 3:47 marks you can hear it; this guy replaced stock Mintgreen pickguard for Tortoise one.

I have been lucking out as of late. Maybe it's because I'm looking at Craig's list and Marketplace several times a day.
It's not like I need to have an additional Bass. It's just entertainment for me... ( I'm still looking for a needy VP)
Maybe it's about being respectful to the sellers on first contact. If I'm making an offer to someone that is less than their asking price I always offer to be a back up to a full price offer if it comes in.
The communication on this purchase was fun and lighthearted. Neither one of us were uncomfortable during the exchange. I think he was pleased for me to take possession and asked for gig pictures if and when I play it out.
It also helps to buy Basses from six string guitar players that thought they were actually going to use that new Bass that they bought. :)

I'm gonna leave the plastic on for now. :)

Cheers!

The other day a home therapist came to check on me and see if I needed any help with anything. The first thing he said when he came into the room and saw a bunch of basses was “bass is hard.” He’s a guitar player. Really nice guy. Getting back into playing in his fifties. We talked music more than we did about my ankle. I took his personal number and told him I’ll be calling him out of the blue when I retire, hopefully next year, looking for someone to jam with.

yeah, no difference with Pacifica morning fog. …as you know, clear by noon……absolutely love NorCal coastal weather…..

Help a curious Washington girl out, what/where is the generally accepted line used to define Northern California from the Southern? In Washington it's East/West with the Cascades as the dividing line.

Cat and Bird.
