Yeah. The constant pickup and drop of the stylus on the record wasn’t good for either. For me, it was the early Fleetwood Mac stuff with Peter Green that I cut my teeth on.

Yep, I broke mine. Not completely off but it separated really good. Luckily it was clean and some Titebond and a day in the clamps repaired it. It's been stable ever since. No tuning problems in the seven months since. Carpal tunnel and tendonitis cause me to drop it on a concrete bandstand pulling out of the case. Believe it or not I played the show with it when I saw the headstock was actually pulling it back into place.

The mids and low mids are there with SITs. Tweak the amp settings a bit.

Good then. As you know, we prefer different tone. Power Steels for the win!

Surprisingly, I don’t have them on my VP. When I bought it, there was a new pack of DA NYXLs in the case. I don’t recall when I put them on it. But it was after trying a couple different strings, including 7250’s and EBCFs. They still sound OK. But I’ll likely go Power Steels when they die. Maybe I’ll play that Thunderbird more with Power Steels on it. As it is, I rarely play it.

My NR came with D'A Pro Steels, I think I was told. Completely uninteresting, as is every D'A string I've tried. I have always wanted to like them because they are always available and reasonable in price. I have several sets that came on basses and came right off after one or two times of playing.

If anyone likes the Pro Steels, let me know and I'll send them to you. Heck, I'll send any of their NPS sets that I have as well.

Ever try the SIT RB (Rock Brights) on anything?

Since I’m in a band that tunes both Eb Standard/Drop Db and D standard/Drop C it’s always a challenge, particularly on TSO’s to get strings at the tension I like. I’m thinking the RB’s in the 50-110 set could be good on the Gibson ‘bird, which currently has DR DDT in 115-55, and while they feel great, they seem a little dark…

We somehow lost a box of LPs during one of our moves. My daughter has bought me new copies of Black Sabbath 1 and Paranoid. Hoping I'll get Master of Reality and Vol4 for Christmas.

I keep records in alphabetical order, even with classical and jazz mixed in. I decided that there were too many overlaps along the fringes. And where do the categories start and stop? Do reggae and country get their own categories, for example? I gave up trying to figure it out.

Same. Always alphabetical, and chronological within each artist.
