Setup Saturday night.
I worked on dialing in the white LE CS Epi while watching the Dodger game last night. Joe Kelly is back with the Dodgers and he got the win!!
This Tbird got a set of the standard Dunlop stainless steels so I can compare them to the Superbrights and the Power Steels. The tuners seem fine. The TR works well. The neck is straight. The frets show some wear, but still have plenty of life. I oiled the fretboard; it’s gorgeously dark the way I like it. I cleaned up up the bridge and polished everything.
I opened up the control cavity and had a look. I need to compare it to my other Custom Shop Epis to see if there are any differences.

Something odd that I did not notice from the pics before I bought it. There is no upper strap pin. There is a lower one, but it is not the stock Epi pin. Wrong color, wrong screw, and it’s mounted too far to the treble side. It should be chrome. So what the heck? Did it come without pins? Was it refinished? Did the former owner use a hootenanny strap? Weird. I’ll have to find a pair of pins to replace the bottom one and add one to the neck plate.

The tone pot works. At first I thought it didn’t, but it seems to work after twiddling it several times.
One thing bugs me. The truss rod cover is warped. I’ll see if Irv can make a new one for it.
Otherwise, I’m happy to have it join the LS CS Epis in the flock.
