But cleaning, polishing, has a special place for me.

Yep. Neil is really opening the vault. I got the harvest set and the Ducks double CD a couple weeks ago.

First Cd player didn’t come along for me until Christmas of ‘87. I was still buying vinyl up to that point. First CD was 10,000 Maniacs’ In My Tribe which has one of my favorite songs ever on it; Hey Jack Kerouac. I still spin it regularly.

A lot of my early CD purchases were of the albums that my vinyl copies were pretty worn out: Ziggy Stardust, They Yes Album and Close to The Edge, Meet The Beatles and Revolver, After the Gold Rush and Rust Never Sleeps are a few of the ones I recall buying immediately after getting the player for Christmas.

I still have that Sony Carousel CD player, but discs skip when I try to use it, so now I play CD’s through a Blu Ray player.

I also have a Sony Carousel CD player and same thing, it just won’t play my CD’s anymore. So I too use my (Sony) Blue Ray Player…

Our Blu Ray players are all Sonys. Last one I bought was last year for the place in the mountains. It was $70. But I’d like to get the old Carousel working again. I really like it.

would have never happened, in fact the instructions to the players was to fully (as much as possible) gear up in the car prior to entering the venue as many don’t have changing rooms so the players gear up outside…..had never seen that… makes perfect sense…

I bought a sony 5 cd carousel in 1991. The mechanical actions are dodgy now.

My first two CD's were Dark Side of the Moon and Machine Head.
Sometimes these days, I'll get out my Frampton Comes Alive album..open it up and dump some raisin bran in the middle. I use a credit card to separate the raisins out.

The white LE Custom Shop Epi arrived today! It left Syracuse Tuesday AM and arrived here on the best coast this PM.

Case is a bit beat with a few stickers on it. It can use a new handle, two of the bottom feet are missing, and I need to glue some lining back in place. It’s still usable as is though.

It has what seem to be DA nickel rounds. It’ll get these as I told Ken I’d try them and compare them to Power Steels and Superbrights.

The setup is decent with the neck straight how I usually set them and medium low action. A quick play revealed that the electronics work, but It may need a tone pot as I don’t hear much difference sweeping from 0 to 10.

I’ll post more pics after I’ve checked the TR, cleaned it up, polished the frets, oiled the FB, and inspected the control cavity.

That challenger disaster was definitely one of those “where were you when” moments in history. I was in Skokie Illinois being shot at by I assume a disgruntled employee.

A pharmaceutical company in Skokie was going bankrupt so our company bought them out. I was in charge of collecting all the physical company drug related confidential files (hard copy data) and clinical trial data to bring back to our headquarters in Cincinnati. While I was there overseeing the file collection and armored vehicle loading at the dock a couple of bullets wizzed past my head and took out some windows near me. Fortunately no one was hit and my security detail who were armed secured the property perimeter until the police could arrive.

I was moved to the security office with some of the building guards watching the close circuit cameras for potential shooters and there was a TV on in the room showing the Challenger launch. Watching the disaster in real time was gut wrenching and completely took our focus off of the security issue on site.

I was at work. My manager staggered into my cube and sat down with a stunned expression. “Did you hear what happened?”

guess going from radials to in-lines in the piston world was like going from centrifugal

to axial in the jet world…

regardless…..don’t have to look far to spot a THUNDERBIRD ….to think these are still seen running today…..when’s the last time anyone saw a (let alone an operational) P-80?……trippy…
