Interesting. On virtually all of my basses I instinctively set the bridge pickup closer to the strings than the neck pickup. If I’m reading your post correctly, you have the bridge pickup further from the strings than the neck pup. I haven’t tried that with the 2015 yet. Might give it a try today sometime, it’s such an oddball bass to set up it might just work good. :bookworm:

I usually set the pickup height on most basses to be fairly similar with the bridge pickup maybe a little closer to the strings. To me it’s all feel and sound. But yeah, on that bass the bridge pickup is a little lower. The bridge pickup is overwound and pretty hot. Works for my ears.

Seriously, to a person, everyone there was so engaging to talk with. Topics were all over the board but never once, not even for a split second did I wish I was somewhere else. So many cool people, so little time!

Back to what Jeff and I were doing…
When I was in highschool, I used to work with my dad designing and making Southwest American Indian jewelry (sterling silver and turquoise mostly, sometimes red coral, obsidian, amber or Opal). Jeff has a most awesome turquoise ring similar to one of my designs from back in the late 1970’s. I was just admiring it. I only have one piece left of all the stuff I created, a sterling belt buckle and end tip…

By the way Will, you were really missed. I can’t believe we haven’t met in person yet. That’s one reason I’m really hoping we do Seattle next summer. I’m looking forward to meeting you, @Border and my Mesa buddy @DJ Bebop (who ended up not being able to come down from Oregon). This past weekend, I met longtime online friends Andy @Nocturnal, @Miles_ONeal, and of course Irv @Engle and really enjoyed their company.

I was playing, but it wasn't a Thunderbird. That got played in front of people the week before. It sure would have been fun to be there.

At least I got to have some supper and drinks with Veronica and Frank before they headed down. That's always fun, too.
