Thanks Irv! The PA system at Winters is marginal and totally DIY - no sound person and it takes a while to get everything to work as it should when arriving for the night. (all monitors etc) Needless to say, it has its limits so the "sweet-spot" live is to gauge the band level to the vocal mics (Cherie's especially) If the band is too loud - the PA/vocal mics can't project out front and that's what we strive to do. Most bands that play there are
way loud and you can never make out lyrics. If pushed they blame it on Winters' when it's actually about them not being able to play to the vocals. We (BG & TSC's) try to keep the vocals up front, but it's always a challenge at Winters'.
TSC's new drummer Phil (who saw BG for the 1st time) commented that both bands (TSC's & BG) were sophisticated music. I'll accept that -
