OK, I lowered the SD neck pickup almost to the ring and raised the bridge pickup a bit. I don't hear distortion in the recording (only recorded the SD versions) now but would appreciate any feedback on any further adjustments you all might suggest.

Ok. Better lows than the 760 buckers IMO. But I'm listening on an iPad. You can probably raise the pickups a bit.

I agree that, at least through the Ampeg, the SDs have more definition when just using the neck pickup with the tone rolled off.

Raising the pickups, at least the neck, is a balancing act. 3/16" higher and it is very distorted at the low end.

Don't measure. Just go a quarter turn at a time and listen.

We'll see, we have rehearsal tonight and another high profile show in Bremerton (Blackberry Festival) next Saturday, the Oct.28 (Halloween) at 7 Cedars, afterwhich I'm going to assess my involvement. The amp will likely replace the GK 700RB II which is just too much for anything we're doing.

That's also a good price considering it's condition, if the amp is in tip top shape.
It'll be worth the purchase.

Workhorse bullet-proof amp. I bought one new in '96 (before Fender bought SWR) What's cool about it is it can be bi-amped with controls for each cab. I sold mine during Covid to the guitarist in the SMF power trio I played with for a short time.

I agree - I sold my SM400+ & 4x10 Goliath cab (bought new with the amp) for $500 - he got somewhat of a deal but the cab is big, square and heavy and I don't miss it for a second.

I had a Acoustic 150b amp w/2, 2X15 cabs bought used in '79. Saw it in the "for sale" section of the Chicago newspaper and risked driving in blizzard conditions to the burbs in my '66 Volvo 122s Amazon wagon to look at it. No one else was coming to look at it so he sold me the lot for (wait for it...) $250. Never used both cabs at one time...

The increased volume in the even numbered clips is a function of the annoying Epiphone issue of the tone pot affecting volume. My one Gibson doesn't do that but all my Epis do.

Interesting. I'll have to check my Eppi birds to see if they suffer from the same tone/volume crossover issue. I know my 2015 bird has some pretty significant crossover between the pots. Hate it when that happens.
