Thunderbird Club

I purchased one of my Greco Birds from Japan. Incredibly smooth transaction and I received the bass within 3 days! The way Willy described the listings is spot on.

Are there any import duties or other hidden costs to consider. One I have an eye on states import duties etc are the buyers responsibility. With an over $250 shipping charge I’d hope there’s not even more I’d have to cough up.

Ah, I believe you are correct!
And I’ll look those up, thank you so much Kara. :)

You're welcome :)

Not so much the "fear" of asking, more like the combination of ADHD and laziness that leads me to thinking about asking then winding up five tabs open learning about the ad that just popped up and realizing I forgot to move/start the load of laundry I threw in earlier. Then remembering two hours later that I was going to ask somebody something but not being sure who or what. Then I see it three days later again and go, "oh yeah! Damn, some Kool aid sounds really good right now."

That's pretty much how my life tends to work, too.
Always getting side tracked from the main task (or maybe third task by now?) by random things....

Working in an office at a desk is a borderline nightmare :nailbiting:

I’ve mostly worked “in the field” all my life, with a short stint as an installations manager, which gave me a taste of office work. Being able to be in a different environment every few days is definitely better than being stuck in the office all day (as was the case often when I was doing the manager thing). My job isn’t as a “driver”, but having to get in the truck and go somewhere, unload what you need, physically work (I can’t tell you how many times I’m ip and down and moving a ladder in a given week), and then at the end of the day, load up, and navigate home, is tiring in a whole different way, and I do A LOT of driving for someone that isn’t a driver by trade. Not to mention the SF Bay Area roads are no picnic anymore (I miss COVID traffic! Just not all the rest…).

As a self employed one-person-show, I have the luxury of choosing how and when I handle my desk work, and luckily that desk is in my home and often near my cat, so office days are nice!

Totally with you on the bay area roads, and missing covid traffic - but I get an "office" with a view ;)

The seller I bought from shipped FedEx and there were no duties or hidden fees. A friend told me that with FedEx there are no duties but with UPS there can be. I can't vouch for that tho.

Long story, short. After 57 years of plucking the bass, one left hand surgery with a year if physical therapy, I have come to the end of the road. Before I eBay/Craigslist them, I thought I should see if there is any interest in the group.View attachment 5193368View attachment 5193369 View attachment 5193370View attachment 5193371 View attachment 5193372View attachment 5193374 View attachment 5193375

I'm very sorry to hear about your debilitating left-hand issue. I too have an issue with my left hand that I am dealing with so I know how bad it can get. I'm learning keys to create a back-up in case of WCS. Hope you can find a way to play music one way or another.

I had a dumbass send me something from Canadia, through some carrier there and it was handed off to ups once it crossed the border and they tired to charge some extra handling fee so I wrote a personal check to the ups driver and canceled the check as soon as they drove off. They sent me a couple bills and haven’t heard anything since.

Really, really sorry to hear this. I know it may to to this for all of us, but don't like this one bit.

PM on the old NR. I know a guy who might be interested.
