Thunderbird Club

Ok so Im way behind stil so Im sorry if this blends in at the wrong spot but is the place you describe the "taint"?
Pardon my cultural ig'nance... But what is that?

And probably! Lol...
That would put your taint in the middle of your back, so no.

I assume that the Canadian taint is the same as the US taint. In the Canadian vernacular, taint refers to the perineum. Because it is the part that ain't your ______ and taint your ________ either.

[/Anatomy Lesson]

So has anyone replaced the pre-amp in an Epiphone pro model? What did you use and what were the results?

500KΩ CTS audio taper potentiometers and it started to sound like a TBird, but that's not what you were asking...

If the signal source (ie pups) isn't up to snuff, you probably won't notice that much difference between a generic cheaper-than-chips preamp module and something more expensive. Wet cardboard is wet cardboard, no matter how you amplify it. You are, of course, more than welcome to attempt to prove me wrong.

So how bout them Thunderbirds?

(Desperately trying to bring the discussion back on track before somebody crosses the line)

Yes, please lets do that. Thanks All.

Maybe require that whoever wants to body shame has to post a current picture of themselves.

But I'd really prefer we just stick to TBirds.

Food for thought:

If you could have any Thunderbird ever made from any Bird type builder on the planet at no cost, which one would you choose, and how would you use it?

I'd personally take one of John Entwistle's Fender Birds and I'd use it very carefully on studio recordings and in home practice.

My most desired would be an original Thunderbird II in Inverness Green or Pelham Blue. I'd play it out at certain venues.

I would go for a surf green Jeff Ament model by Mike Lull or one of the myriad of the Cataldos that @Dadagoboi regularly teases us with here (e.g., black Fenderbird - maple neck).

I would start a punk band of angry old men, where we would rail on things that old men rail on (bad back, bad traffic, bad divorce and bad weather): The Boomer Bummers.

This is no BS- i'd have Carlo make me up a couple of Birds (Epi Classic Clones basically, but with better bridges and MAYBE coil-splitting on the P/U's) and play the heck out of them!

Gibson Thunderbird II NR, in Cardinal Red, and I'd play it everywhere.
