How did the finish repair turn out?
CA white isn’t close to Alpine White. Plus, white poly finishes all seem to have black right below the surface, so that always shows through. So, doesn’t look perfect, but the chip and hole are filled, flush, and polished.

The bigger issue is what I thought was a big shim at the pocket heel is just the way the pocket was cut. So, even after following John Carruther’s setup videos I have significant buzz starting at the 12th fret. The only solution was to raise the bridge and end up with high strings from the 3rd to 9th fret.

You can put a shim at either end of the pocket to adjust the bridge height, but it sounds like there is too much relief.

Epi bolt-ons are pretty forgiving. Get a set of these and play around with them to get the correct neck angle. I had to do that with the Silverburst.

You’ll get it there with persistence and patience.

I don’t have that issue with the white one. Action is about 3/64ths. Neck has only a tiny bit of relief. No buzz anywhere.

Mine has quite a few hours of play on it. It could use a fret job. But the fret-end finish work is so good, I’m hesitant to mess with it so long as it plays as well as it does right now. George really came to the rescue helping figure out the grounding issue.

The TR cover is badly warped, although it isn’t noticeable with a casual look. I’ve decided to send the TR cover and PG to Irv and have him do black and chrome like he did for the Silverburst.

That would be really cool. Clear guard and same colour bird logo as headstock Gibson logo.. great suggestion!
I’m shallow Tay. Many of my Tbirds, and other basses, look good. Even though I’m a so-so player these days. I have a few to get some work done on to make them the best they can be. Keeps me out of trouble. And my wife is pretty tolerant of it.
