Chris also used a modified Telecaster bass early on.
I'll add in some others:
Wishbone Ash
Cheap Trick
New Brubeck Quartet
Return to Forever
Mott the Hoople
The Chambers Brothers (Pops played a bird).

Double ‘Bird Attack spotted.
One of my favourite Aussie bands of the 1970’s, although this is one of my least liked songs of theirs but so be it.
I’m really surprised I’ve only just seen this clip now. I’m pretty sure this was the first release with the new lead guitarist (Bob Spencer also of Finch/Contraband, The Angels/Angel City, Rose Tattoo) and when they were dialling back on the Glam and dialling up on the Rock. I can’t remember ever seeing Bob with a Firebird, he had a beautiful Les Paul Goldtop in those days, and I’ve never seen Greg Macainsh with a T’Bird ever, he was usually a P Bass
(L series?), Telecaster or Ripper player in those days (from memory).
Anyway, just sharing for the Birds.
B’assassin. It's all making sense now. And him being so doggone nice is just part of the cover. He's likely an international assassin.
A bass assassin. He's way to nice to be the other kind.
B’assassin.
Because it’s really not much quicker to type, or any quicker to say.
That wasn’t the first f word that came to mind but good point!...and an F-bird can be confused with like... like.., you know.., a.., you know...

I would not be surprised to hear you have a show lined up for Sicily.

Hey but it was John Entwistle that got me big time into Thunderbirds. I was actually disheartened to find that he didn't use his original upside-down 'Birds much - mostly it was non-reverse and Fenderbirds. But the standard Epi Bird is basically a Fenderbird so...
It seems to me that, tee-bird is one syllable less than thun-der-bird, but eff-bird not so than fire-bird. And although he debuted much later, Tulin bird anyone?
I believe I mentioned it before. We should all have the Ampeg/Thunderbird tone as an option.Creamy sound. None of my other amps make that sound. And it definitely looks cool.
There's a smart a** comment in here I just can't find it, maybe after a little more coffee.If a Thunderbird is a T’Bird,
why isn’t a Firebird a F’Bird?
Yep, it's magic. That was the first amp I got to play through and teach myself bass on. In the late 70s it was generally just an older amp. It wasn't mine, but I should have hounded the guy to sell it.Creamy sound. None of my other amps make that sound. And it definitely looks cool.
