Thunderbird Club

I have no pic's/proof of that moment but it happened within minutes of that pic. Everyone was standing in the exact same location - the addition was actual chicks. :)
One drunk chick. The second was there to haul the first one off. In the years I’ve been married, I’ve only attracted a few chick, all drunk, IIRC. Then again, sometimes I’m oblivious so who knows?

Can you post a pic of Tulin?

He's a bit bluer in-game, but still not as deep as Pelham blue.

 thank god for drunk chicks when we were young!

Or the DJB project, we've been recording guitar as two tracks: one is the guitar direct and the other is pedal board>amp>mic. I can see on the tracks there's a lot more dynamic range on that direct guitar signal. Mike doesn't have a compressor on his board, but between the dirt pedals and the tube amp (Superchamp XD using the clean channel), there's a fair bit of compression going on.

I've never felt the need for it on bass. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing?

In this regard - any recording (studio) incorporates compression.

May be of some interest. I've found that I like a little overdrive, but not fuzz or distortion.

I think this can be true... but it really depends on the specific music. I play very clean until I step on my MXR Fuzz Deluxe pedal for 'effect' on one song. (Live or Let Die)

Fair enough... Although I generally like to avoid distortion per se, I do really like the organic quality from the more flexible 'envelope' you get by pushing the amp. I like to hear the effect that dynamics have on an environment (the amp' circuit being worked through by the signal).
I just don't like the sound to be broken into too much...

I thought of Leon Wilkeson and Bill Wyman, but Wilkeson sometimes used a Jazz and Wyman used a Mustang, at least during the 1969 tour and maybe on some of the albums after that like Sticky Fingers and Exile. And then there’s the Allman Brothers with Berry Oakley’s Guildified Jazz, Lamar Williams’ Alembic, Allen Woody’s Gibsons, Alembics, etc.
