So you're a nip man?
Yeah, but you love some nice nips.
Maybe...just a thought...maybe he takes better pics when NOT drinking. Could be just a fluke. It’s a clean and clear pic. What happened?
fun times….
Is it just me, or is every Thunderbird carved out of the heart of a neutron star! I hadn’t gigged in a while and forgot how impossibly heavy my Thunderbird in a case is!
you were!…. getting scolded by Dave Handloff over the exploding B-15, remember?…"Do you want me to bring it in?"
What kind of question is that?!?!?
I must have been back in the practice room.

The cases weigh a ton but the bass guitars are pretty light, relative to some others. Is it just me, or is every Thunderbird carved out of the heart of a neutron star! I hadn’t gigged in a while and forgot how impossibly heavy my Thunderbird in a case is!
Yup. I only use those in very rare situations. But they do just fit in a Smart Car.The cases weigh a ton but the bass guitars are pretty light, relative to some others.
Ah that makes more sense along with the reading when the pickups were in parallel.Given the meter range, I think he meant 952k ohms.
Good plan! I have to put my back seats down to drive with my case.Yup. I only use those in very rare situations. But they do just fit in a Smart Car.

@WillyW I would try resoldering the leads to the windings. Do you have a variable heat soldering iron (station)?
The trick is to heat up the winding wire enough to melt off the insulation coating to solder it, without completely burning away the wire.I do, I'll be pulling the pickup apart this weekend, the pickup is reading only in the 2000k range, the meter won't "pick up" in the 200k range....
it does have a nice brittle sound as it is, but at 1/3 volume of the neck, I could leave it as it is an still be happy with the bass.
One of the interesting things 'bout living in S.E. FL is there are a lot of high dollar, very recognisable cars. Think Ferraris, Maseratis, Bentleys, Rolls'; even had a Rolls SUV pass me a few weeks ago.Same, for the most part. The small convertibles, for instance, are still at least a bit different, so a Miata vs a BMW Z4 vs whatever are discernable.
True. But waiting for the 'fridge repairman to(hopefully)fix the thing, I ran outta time to make a booze run.You probably need a drink....
I saw one the other week. One of the interesting things 'bout living in S.E. FL is there are a lot of high dollar, very recognisable cars. Think Ferraris, Maseratis, Bentleys, Rolls'; even had a Rolls SUV pass me a few weeks ago.

It was a shop in Santa Cruz owned by Chuck's friend. Folks that drove to the GTG brought basses, so yeah there were a bunch of V's birds on a rack. Marshall, Dave and Geo brought basses (apologies if I'm forgetting someone) - We were like kids in a candy store.Where was this - kinda looks like a shop but I'm thinking that's V's rack'o'Birds? Either way, the GTG looks look a fab event!
Being super carful is outside my CroMagnon range of abilities. So, when things like this need to be done, somebody else who is more of a brain surgeon than hammer swinger gets the call. The trick is to heat up the winding wire enough to melt off the insulation coating to solder it, without completely burning away the wire.
And obviously you have to be super careful when unwrapping the coil.
