Thunderbird Club

One of the interesting things 'bout living in S.E. FL is there are a lot of high dollar, very recognisable cars. Think Ferraris, Maseratis, Bentleys, Rolls'; even had a Rolls SUV pass me a few weeks ago.
A couple days ago, I saw some car that looked like it was probably expensive, but was also fairly generic looking. It turned out to be a Maserati. It could have been a Jaguar or a Ferrari or maybe something else. Painted silver, the default color for not thinking about color, just like every other melted jellybean. At least a Rolls has the big ol' barn door of a grill to announce itself. There's no longer a Gibson Thunderbird of the automotive world to be captivated by unless it's something really exotic or really vintage. That's the reason the Camaro is getting so much work (meaning way more money than I should spend on a car) dumped in it. It will be a useful mostly modern car that looks like a 1968 car, with a few quirks that let you know it's still got some character and shortcomings that keep it amusing to drive.

My son has never been all that interested in cars, but he's showing just a little interest in this. His wife is a bit of a hellion. She definitely wants to learn to drive a manual transmission, because she has a heavy foot and wants to drive it. That has him interested in it now. So, it will have a good home whenever I can't drive it anymore. It makes me really happy. All these years of failing to turn my son into the same oil stained wretch as his old man may be coming to an end. Not that either of them is likely to ever turn a wrench.

Where was this - kinda looks like a shop but I'm thinking that's V's rack'o'Birds? Either way, the GTG looks look a fab event!

We are just starting to put the 2024 GTG together, Seattle is the place!

The Maserati Quattroporte doesn't look particularly remarkable.

A "regular" Maserati does, though.

It was a shop in Santa Cruz owned by Chuck's friend. Folks that drove to the GTG brought basses, so yeah there were a bunch of V's birds on a rack. Marshall, Dave and Geo brought basses (apologies if I'm forgetting someone) - We were like kids in a candy store.:D

Our new friend Erik brought some, too.

And, of course, our lovely host, Chuck!
