Thunderbird Club

At one point I owned an original MM Stingray, it was probably around '80 or so, I've kind of forgotten. It played so beautifully, I just never could get it to sound good through my rig at the time.
They are nice, very well made.
I tried a 5 at a local GTG and it was the only 5 I’ve tried that felt pretty good to me.
The bassist at the show yesterday (Tony Mitchell ex Sherbet / Sherbs / Highway) had one as a backup to his Hofner… which seemed a little odd to me. Didn’t see him touch it though.

Ozzy was arguably the weak link in Sabbath and his solo bands. He looked rough when I saw him in 82.
Everyone in Sabbath seemed in really good shape in 2000.

I get that, but Ozzy was also a prime attraction too.

I had a similar problem with the 5-string sterling Stingray I had - played pretty great, just couldn't get a sound I liked :(

I saw them with Gillan round that time (early 80’s)……Tony was looking pretty haggard….

I saw that tour, Ratt was the opener(or support?). I recall it was a good show, but my recall from that long ago is unreliable.

I love the first six Sabbath albums and the Dio ones as well. Of the first six, Paranoid would be my least favorite, but I’d guess that’s because most of the songs were/are overplayed, I’ve just heard them so much…

I saw Sabbath on the Gillan/Born Again tour. Quiet Riot was the opener and were HUGE at that time. Also saw Sabbath with Dio on the Mob Rules tour. Ten Years After opened the show and were quite good.

Basses speak to us - we either join the conversation or come up with an excuse to leave. :)

I wouldn’t mind having the right Sabre….

I used to be able to tell you for a song (of a favourite artist) which album, side, order…

OK, Dr. Strange!

(Yea, me, too.)
now - what’s this one called again?

 Thank you. Very generous.

Is that the Jackson from the song?

If you mean the Johnny Cash/June Carter song, that’s Jackson, Mississippi.
