Thunderbird Club

This was my land yacht. Long gone now. It had 35,000 original miles on it when I bought it in the 90s. Had a 307 V-8 in it.

Forgive me if I missed this in this thread, but I see that Gibson is only listing the SG as the only bass model available now.
Even the Thunderbird model shows as discontinued!

I just sold two of my Gibsons and wanted to replace them with possibly a new Thunderbird in a few weeks.

Hmm…

Does anyone know if they have anything new in the works?

EDITED: After I refreshed the page it just looks like this Thunderbird model got discontinued.

Well, when the road-car Chaparral hit LeMon's - I was a big fan! :)

This one was at Mid Ohio in 1969 and I saw John Surtees drive it. The transparent side panel was great, because you could see how hard he was working in the cockpit.

I think about how to go fast way too much. It sure is fun. Older cars with all their flaws are more fun than brand new ones that are so competent you can't possibly use their limits anywhere.

I know this is TalkCars, but if I may go off topic, I got an answer elsewhere about the construction of the TB+. That block on the bottom is in fact the ceramic magnets (3), and the rails are steel. Ceramic seems to be too brittle to also act as a rail, where alnico can, and does. That's why the TB+ got back.
Does this mean that the TB+ pickups that do not have the protruding block on the back are alnico?

Big fan of the batwings.

If you are referring to these, you are not alone.

Love the batwing look! Might put some on one of my Goth basses.

Speaking of Goth basses, umteen pages back someone posted a link to a white Eppi Goth. I seem to recall seeing another one (maybe the same one for all I know) years ago. Did Eppi actually make a white Goth, or is that just someone’s refin?

I’ve not heard of one. My guess would be it was a refin if it had the Goth neck and PG.
