Thunderbird Club

Forgive me if I missed this in this thread, but I see that Gibson is only listing the SG as the only bass model available now.
Even the Thunderbird model shows as discontinued!

I just sold two of my Gibsons and wanted to replace them with possibly a new Thunderbird in a few weeks.

Hmm…

Does anyone know if they have anything new in the works?

EDITED: After I refreshed the page it just looks like this Thunderbird model got discontinued.

Multiple Thunderbirds appear, at least here.

I haven't seen a white Goth (that I remember anyhow) but I saved this pic years ago. A BlackBird refinished in white with "bloodsplatter" on it.

Took the VP for a spin last night for the first time in...hell, maybe 8-months. I've been using the Grecobackers mostly live, but decided to bring the 'bird out. Sounded massive like it always does! Ran it into my 360 and 300 combo into a 4x12 I have loaded with Eminence 2012s. Covered both Bee Gees and Mountain easily. Now if only I could find a pickup cover!

That's a classic example of a great player playing solidly in the groove who just happens to b playing a T-bird. If not knowing what bass he or she was playing - there's nothing to differentiate it from any other bass guitar. At least in this case. The short and the long of it - it's the player not the bass.

I checked too. The Simmons (I thought it was to be discontinued), the Rex, and the NR. The regular Tobacco Burst said discontinued, with a note “no longer available online.” And the Jr. Tribute has a “notify me when available” button (I thought it was discontinued?). Bottom line is that I suspect the regular Reverse will continue, they just need to decide in what finish for the next run.

Maybe they want to sell a few more Simmons birds & Rex birds before putting more standard ones out

I love Inverness green but I wish they would do a NR in Vintage Copper finish.. If you're reading this someone at Gibson then get it done!!

When I first met my wife, her grandfather still had a ‘57 New Yorker wagon. It was quite the luxo cruiser. But it was amazing how rusted out it was by 1980. And it had always been a SoCal car from new. It looked like this one

I’ve posted this before. This was my gig mobile in the 70’s
1967 Checker Marathon 4 door station wagon. A poor kids 55 Chevy Nomad.
It hauled a 3 piece band. Guys in front on the bench seat and PA / gear in the back.
