Thunderbird Club

So I did a few reversible mods to my Epi Elitist. The silk screening on both the pickguard and tr cover was wearing off, so I took them off and stored them in a safe place. I made new ones out of lexan. I also replaced the pickup rings with matching chrome and installed a d-tuner. No new holes were drilled, so it can all go back stock if need be, but I like the new look (I'm kinda vain like that).

Don't let Kat chide you on the amp, I have the same 700RB, it's anything but tame.

Ohhh my gosh, I still have yet to try and tame it.

On it's own it is ungodly huge sounding.
Running it without the SVP, I've got the bass rolled all the way off, and for what ever reason, when running the Ampeg through the effects loop, everything just seems to come alive.

Syrupy midrange for days.
Tonal bliss I tells ya T!!!!

Not any more. Sold it in '98 or '99, putting away 'childish things' and all that. Was bass-less from then until 2015. Back in the day I would only play 4001 shaped basses (never managed to get my paws on a 4005).

Fast forward to 'why did I ever give that up?' and 'if I'm getting old I may as well do it disgracefully' and Thunderbirds are the perfect fit.

Old and disgraceful, that's me, so I hear ya Kat.

2169 I think it was, it's got a ski jump going on from the 12th fret down to the heel.

Buzzing like hell all over the place.

For a neck thru, even if it were repairable and trusted to a very reputable journeyman luthier - it would cost serious coin to 'straighten' out correctly and finally. Run away - run away. :rollno:

Ok, now I get that, but really, look at my eyes in the first post of me with that '76.

Do I look like a creep?

Big nose yes.

No, no creep - and I've got a big schnoz also! I just was referring to the self-depricating that embodied much of the 'emo' angst-y lyrics in many early 90's songs. Kinda' like white-man's blues. Instead of "baby's left me and now I'm so low", it was "she couldn't stand my miserable pathetic self and I don't blame her for leaving me"

Ufff Kat, this is why I get into so much trouble.

I'm a misfit, a lone wolf.

Guess it's why I'll always be single.

Join a band - chick's always go for the bas... er, (lead guitarists/singer) ... anyway, it would help occupy your time.:)
