Join a band - chick's always go for the bas... er, (lead guitarists/singer) ... anyway, it would help occupy your time.:)

There's always electric trains and the cat at my house.

I have heard (don't know if it's true) that there's always some hand finishing involved with a Thunderbird neck even in the age of CNC machines. My '76s seem identical, the '89 and the '09 Nikki Sixx are similar to each other.

Probably still true to some extent - even Fenders over the years have been only loosely 'standard' (P's or J's). I bet there have been at least a half dozen slightly different T-bird neck profiles over the years. Then there's the body shape - always looks like more of less like a T-bird but with a number of design iterations. I notice the most differences in the lower elbow bout shape.

I actually face one of the main streets in town. I had both amps cranked and my wife was driving up the road. She said that she heard me before she even turned the corner

"...Honey I'm home... I said, HONEY, I'M HOME - I'M HOME DAMN IT - TURN DOWN THE BASS! ("oh hi sweetie - I didn't hear you come in...")

I've had or have now four different Epiphones and each neck was different, even if from the same model.

No, no creep - and I've got a big schnoz also! I just was referring to the self-depricating that embodied much of the 'emo' angst-y lyrics in many early 90's songs. Kinda' like white-man's blues. Instead of "baby's left me and now I'm so low", it was "she couldn't stand my miserable pathetic self and I don't blame her for leaving me"

So understood.

"57" on left, Duck Tribute on right.
Both are very cool but I love the Tribute, with that snazzy Jazz neck (on the P-bass body).

I notice the upper 'bout shape being different, '60s Reverse and Greco's being a little more "humped"

The kids next door play drums and the kids in the house in back have a band that cranks away sometimes. So, when I'm cranked up on this or that, it's more of the same in the neighborhood. Every third house within about a ten house radius plays something or another. The one house that never, ever makes noise has Electrokitty Studio in the basement. I'm a little surprised they don't tell everyone else to turn down so we don't screw up whatever soon to be platinum record they are working on in there.

A mild upgrade on an earlier post of my ThunderBacker. I covered the aestheticaly questionable bridge toaster style pickup with a home made cover. Its not a carbon copy of an original T bird cover but more of an original design. It was a tad wider than I wanted it to be so I tried to fool the untrained eye by outlining the edges in flat black while keeping the metal raw in color as Ive seen with the original T bird covers. I found that using beads from a craft store gives the extra length you need to move the string bindings away from resting on the saddle, increased the sustain for $3 and change.

There's nothing wrong with having dropped out of pop culture at a young age.

Sorry for coming off pompous sounding there.

Not a concious or intentional effort do drop out of the culture of things at that time.
Sort of just get locked into certain things in what's comfortable and, I automatically put on the blinders.

Hence the ignorance.
