You also feel better paying a good luthier to do repairs you can’t and appreciate a good job better.

While I can fit nuts etc., my specialist repair shop does a fantastic job that I am willing to pay for.
I think one of the most useful lessons one can learn is one's limitations, which goes along with learning that it's cheaper to pay a qualified 'repairman' to fix something than to fix what I screwed up.:bag:

Well it came out between 8th grade and Freshman year. Girls loved it. And with those lyrics, if a girl sang along with them, you maybe had a chance.
Hmm. Since between 8th and 9th grade(junior high was 7-8-9; senior high was soph, junior, senior)the top hits in 1959 were "Lipstick on Your Collar"-Connie Francis and "It's Late"-Ricky Nelson, NO one had a chance.:banghead:
(EDIT: you'd get 'picked off' at first base)

Yes, Japanese EB3 copy. Likely mid 60s to early 70s. No makers mark. The only interesting item is the distinctive bridge, which was also used by Greco.
I had one as my first bass I bought. I
bought it new for a $150.

I had a chance to buy a used '60s German Hofner for the same $150 but noooo it was used, how could that be a good deal for something used? That Japanese EB-3 was new and shiny

:)

Yes you were there...

The experimental take was released on his live compilation Does Humor Belong in Music?, recorded at the Pier in New York City in August of 1984. Watch the mind-blowing, pro-shot video footage of that recording below.

Frank Zappa's Cover Of "Whipping Post" Will Blow You Away [Videos].

:)
That is an energy filled version! Zappa was insanely good with a witty sense of humor!

The Turtles, a popular band of the late 1960s, was founded by Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman. Their music resonated with audiences during that era. However, their journey didn’t end there. After the Turtles disbanded in 1970, Kaylan and Volman embarked on another musical adventure.

They joined forces with the legendary Frank Zappa and became part of his band, The Mothers of Invention.

Nice photo! You must’ve been close. Can’t tell if those are all knobs or switches but that’s a lot of controls on Zappas SG!

Was 3rd for that show, was at all 6.
That SG was one someone built from scratch for him.
So he’s got all kinds of electronics jammed in there after he bought that guitar.

I would never have guessed any of the turtles ended u-p as Mothers. Very cool.
