I have a question regarding the T Bird pick ups... If you remove one of the pick ups does it affect the sound at all?? So say you have one PU at zero and one on full, would it sound different just getting rid of one?? Instead of simply turning it off on the bass?
That was one nice thing about the EB Wonder Wipes I used. Didn't hurt the strings.I found a YT video on oiling the fret board w/o removing strings. Works quite well. Involves wax paper and paper towels(or soft cloth).
Nice photo! You must’ve been close. Can’t tell if those are all knobs or switches but that’s a lot of controls on Zappas SG!
Geezzz. Hate, not Like that. That wouldn't work for me. I can't/won't buy anything from Amazon since one of their drivers backed in to my van-in my driveway-and their carrier refuses to pay for it.
Bass-turds.
Light use of Mineral Oil (Baby Oil) works great as well, as Willy said. Super cheap. Worked great on the dining room table as well.I use Scott’s Liquid Gold. It’s almond oil. It penetrates well and smells decent. Great for reviving kitchen cabinets too.
A song from our youth. RIP Eric Carmen. He was only 74.
Kynga Glyk plays one of those old Grecos. It looks like maybe she uses a replacement bridge in this video. Maybe someone can make out what it is.

The biggest sound disappointments for me recently have been Lake Street Dive shows. There's not excuse for bad sound when you have spectacular musicians including a beastly upright bass player. But their sound person turned them to muddy mush.Yeah, it seems it went from not hearing the kick to it becoming all that fills the low end. Sometimes I’m standing right at the sound board and am just puzzled at how they can think that what I’m hearing is good. Maybe it’s the best they can get for the room? I saw Tool at the Bill Graham Civic and was less than impressed with the sound, lots of boomy kick, not a lot of bass, and the bass player’s tone is very present in their music, but it was kinda washed out to my ears.
I’ve also heard some bands that you might think would sound bad live, sound amazing. I saw Slayer outdoors at Shoreline Amphitheater around 10years ago, was totally blown away by how good it sounded. Outdoors!
I like that internet fact. Let's go with it.I have followed your breadcrumbs to their logical conclusion. Mwuhahahahaha!!! I will use the secret Illuminati mind control tags so no one will be able to do anything with the information.

You can usually bend the conductor tabs in the jack if you can get at it. That solves the problem, but only if you can get at the jack. I don't remember how Gibson Thunderbird jacks are configured. I know I have had them apart a few times, including one to tighten up the connection. I just don't remember what I did.Does anyone know of an output jack on Gibson Thunderbird's that "grab" the cable better?
My T Bird cuts out with right angle cables when any pressure is applied. It's fine with straight cables. This cable works perfect with every other fender style jack (every other bass I own). My tech said the jack feels pretty loose and doesn't really grab the cable at all (and I agree).
And recall Ronnie's funny line. He must have felt the same.Sad to see him go, but not sad if I never hear that song again.
Well it came out between 8th grade and Freshman year. Girls loved it. And with those lyrics, if a girl sang along with them, you maybe had a chance.Sad to see him go, but not sad if I never hear that song again.
Here’s what that saddle looks like when you pop it off:No, just a funky string cover.
