That is nice! I like that SS too!2011 Gibson Short Scale. The top was finished in Silverburst and the silver headstock accent was added by a shop in Providence. The pickguard is original.

@Albert Ross was asking about the T-Bird logo on his Pickguard and it matches the one on your Short Scale. Did they use that logo on other years/models?2011 Gibson Short Scale. 9v battery turned on its side. All active unless someone pulls a Willy and starts yanking stuff.are all of the Epimophoam PRO Thundernoids active?
is that summbich the battery compartment? 6 D-cells?
weird placement right where a string-thru would be...

Yep. This one ain’t easy. But it sure is great.
Looks like someone punched that poor bird in the beak. They've changed a few times over the years........Perhaps we should post some shots of various years.
Here's what it looked like in 1989.

Well put Geo!If you play a lot with other musicians, like in rehearsals/gigs/jam-sessions/recording sessions etc.., many factors of the endeavor need to align for an optimal experience and they are not always in your control. Like tonight at our weekly Bond Girl rehearsal - everything felt like it gelled. The overall sound in our space was good, our levels were good, we rested in the grooves fluidly - all & all a very productive rehearsal. But last Tuesday - it felt completely different. The room sound wasn't good, our playing was ok but not great - all & all it was more 'getting through' the material than playing it. Live shows can be like that too - as much as you try to control your sound/performance, sometimes it's out of your control and you have to make the best of it. Luckily as musicians we are our harshest critics - a sub-standard performance to us can be perceived as "you guys were great!" by our audience... I politely thank them, but know better. I guess it's just part of the deal - strive for excellence and stay critical (enough) to work to achieve something close to that "ideal".
Ha! One 9v but you’re right. It’s in the neck through stack! Let’s cut a hole where the most tension will be on the bass!are all of the Epimophoam PRO Thundernoids active?

That’s a big single coil, not a mudbucker.Interesting. Don't know that I've ever seen the underneath of a mudbucker. I wonder if all look similar to that?
So, a real mudbucker would be that actual size? Sidewinder? So, just making a single coil to look like a mudbucker externally? Might explain why it doesn't sound muddy, just very lows oriented. That’s a big single coil, not a mudbucker.

I can listen to his bass lines on Sweet Lorraine and Traveller in Time over and over again and it never gets old. So good.He (Gary Thain) was an inspiration to me for sure, " Demons and Wizards" and "Live" got a lot of play at my house, growing up I liked English bands much more than most U.S. stuff during the early and mid '70s.
That's an original Gibson pickguard? I thought that logo was only on Epiphones. They've changed a few times over the years........Perhaps we should post some shots of various years.

It would be interesting to see how much the logo has changed. Just in a few examples there’s slight differences. They've changed a few times over the years........Perhaps we should post some shots of various years.
