Well, I'll jump in and suggest SIT Power FLATS. Pretty close to EBCFs in tone, yet won't f...*, er, mess up yer fingers. I have them on my Epi Embassy-and they'll prolly stay there 'til they go dead(4-5 years). Or I get a wild hair and get another set of #2814 EBCFs.

Thanks for the recommendation. I would like to try them on something. Flats can sound amazing in certain applications. Might be what I try after another go with what I have before spending many $$. I have a set of TIs and/or Pyramids I could sell and the SITs would be free!

Agreed. I have EBCF on my CP and Power Flats on both my VPs. Maybe a bit more zing from EBCF but very similar for half the price.

A friend of mine made a Talent pedal like that, with a foot switch and LED. I'd make one for myself, but no room on my little board.

Can you make one for me--just please do put some talent in before shipping? I can always make room for much needed talent.

FedMess deuxième partie: After spending a week in customs because they couldn't find the 3 invoices in the airbill pouch or the e-copy, they finally released my client's package and sent it to Paris. Unfortunately, my client is in Southern France. What *ing morons.

Having expectations is a cause of much frustration in life. It was just silly to expect FedMess to get it right. Who does that, anyway?

Closet? Closet? That thing needs some playing by one who can play. My '64 begs me to ship it to you to not be abused by a hack. I resist because I know it won't want to come home after talent has been applied....

This looks like a nice standard Epi IV. The shop is accepting offers for this one listed at $403. It's stamped as a 2nd. It has a few minor dings. Potentially a good deal with shipping included. For comparison, Sweewater is still listing as having them in stock at $449.

Nice original mods for a bird - poplar Burl wing veneers and a Warwick bridge/tail. Makes it uniquely yours, I like that.

I immediately thought of you when I saw it. It is a mod North Guitars would do. I like it too.

There's one irritating thing about that mod - the rout for the Warwick tailpiece isn't quite deep enough, so to adjust intonation you have to take tailpiece out entirely. I might fix that someday.

Very nice that the solid black Pros have the walnut layers under the finish, though. And the burl looks great. And I never use a lot of controls, so if I can't have just one pickup, VV is perfect.

I just heard that there will be two new colors for the Gibson Nonreverse Thunderbird towards the end of the year. I think you'll like them, I've already ordered the one I want. ;D

Yup, though I don't have any basses with "regular" Tbird pickups and the only one I can think of borrowing is an Epi Goth model... the same one I glued bunny skull fabric to much earlier in this thread.
