Thunderbird Club

It was a great band, that first (and last) show was great, then the singer/guitarist disappeared for six months. We figured he was dead. Then he reappeared and against my better judgement the drummer convinced me to give him a chance. We played for a short time and then the singer/guitarist at least told us he couldn't do it anymore. I said let's at least record the songs to have something to show for it. No response. That was over 10 years ago. Now he's an attorney. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Not your's I hope.

So there you have it. I wouldn’t want to play with him either based on that.

over $100 for a cab cover...
Harbor Freight, $4.99. I have one of these over everything in the back of the gigmobile, plus windows are factory dark tinted and have privacy screens on the inside. Look in the rear side and/or rear window and ya can't see :poop:!

I kind of combined the two for my favorite cover ever. I found an upholsterer in the Mexican part of town (my people) and took him harbor freight moving blankets and had him make me one with that and sign vinyl. I was out $150 TOTAL for two but they were freaking NICE.

I was just in Petaluma today. SF GuitarWorks shop is actually now in Petaluma.

In the case they may be discussing, it’s where Mesa-Boogie / Mesa Engineering is (or was?), I believe.
Yep. Mesa is there. Although Andy’s R&D shop is in Davis. Fat Jimmy and another that I can’t recall the name of are there too. GK is in Stockton.

I told y’all this story…

Mid 90’s I get invited to the Namm show by a harmonica buddy.

He sez, we are going to meet my buddy Steve there.

peeples keep getting his buddies autograph and taking pictures and I lean over and ask my buddy what the deal is, and he tells me Steve is the guitarist for Yes.

I knew “Owner of a lonely heart” but that’s all. Steve was a pretty cool dude. But I still never bought an album
You really are a complex guy.

Calling @JIO
I think he did at least one Tbird Goth neck on a FSO.

Well, yah... my Teiscobirds sorta' fit that category as the body style (like many others) was modeled after a Jazzmaster/Jaguar, one of the most copied Fender guitar designs.

Those look sharp! I got a decent shape Bolt on T-Bird neck from a friend and can’t find a T-Bird body. Thinking about buying a loaded P-Bass or J Bass body. Are there any gotchas on the intonation or mounting? I like the Jag too.

Was this already here? Should I buy it?

Wait, I hardly make that much money in a year...
Three years ago I would have said it's crazy money. But now, it's very typical and can sell for that. Not to me, but they are in demand. Maybe as much now as ever. I'll sell you my '64 for a discounted friend rate of $15,000!:DIt's promised to someone if something happens to me.

About 20 yrs ago mine was appraised at $7,500. It was way too high in my opinion, but a lot more than the $600 or $650 I paid/have in it.

There is this one.... It's been there a couple months. I'm kind of surprised it's still there. If groceries, gas and everything else hadn't increased by over 20% in recent years, it would be gone.

If you are using an Epi neck, I believe the heel is narrower than a 7ender neck pocket. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Received notice of non renewal on my auto insurance policy. Excellent driving record. Had to jump through hoops to reinstate the policy. Then four months later received a notice of non renewal on my home owners/fire/earthquake/umbrella policies, never had a claim in the 10 years living here, again jumping through hoops to hopefully get them reinstated using California Fair plan for fire coverage. My insurance agent has informed me the policy costs will probably double, rivaling my mortgage payment. Seems like insurers would prefer not to write policies in CA right now. Add to that a bit of talk at the State level of implementing an exit tax on net wealth next year and it looks like I’m outta here if possible this calendar year. Shame, because CA really is a beautiful state, but I figure I can visit it as often as I want and not have to deal with the financial antics that have become the norm here.
Most of them don’t don’t of want to write homeowners policies here anymore. The majors, like State Farm and Farmers are non-renewing almost everyone.

Auto insurers are playing musical chairs. Geico is trying to leave completely. The other Berkshire-Hathaway companies, Guard and Biberk, may stick around. Or may not. Farmers can’t seem to make up its mind. State Farm wants to leave. Allstate is seeing an opportunity and may become a big presence again, now that they own National General. Progressive is also marketing again. Mercury isn’t leaving, as California is its biggest market. The Auto Club affiliated companies seem to be hanging around.

If you qualify for USAA, that is probably your best overall option for home and auto. None of it is cheap. In ten years, the landscape will look completely different.
