^Best donuts ever!^

Same thing, different name really, though those are based on your pickup trucks.

So I had a long awaited appointment with the local corvette guru, cool guy gave me all the good and bad (mostly good) regarding the health of my newest car.

I told him about my obsession with getting a 572 and a powerglide, (even though I hate automatics)

he said a well built C6 is every bit as strong as a powerglide and would be more street friendly.

I mentioned I would hate to hack up the Fairlane.

but I do need to find something to put the 572 in…

same color scheme and bubble window….

I could also live with a supercharged pump gas small block and a 5/6 speed manual.

then the 572 would have to go in a ram air 64 Galaxie..

SRV played on the one album, but did the "unthinkable"[1] and walked away from touring with Bowie. And the timing worked out.

[1] The Bowie show was sooo not Stevie.
Indeed. Bowie seems to have been one of the major reasons why SRV became popular. Likely would have happened given his talent, but slower. Bowie wanted him to play in his band, allowed SRVs band to open and Stevie came to the conclusion that was all it was ever going to be unless he jumped.

Yeah, in most parts of Georgia back then, it was an invitation for an @$$-whomping.
No one I knew growing up was into Bowie. Other than here, that is still the case. Everyone obviously heard of him, but he just wasn't a draw. He seemed interesting, and that was about it. Not a reflection on his abilities, more about how his abilities were not of interest to many people.

Funny enough, that isn’t a rude song at all. It was written about a friend that was hit by a car and they weren’t sure if she’d pull through. Hence the guitar imitation of an Ambulance siren.
The first time the band heard the crowd coming back with that reply verse… they were shocked and upset.
They eventually decided to go with it.

These are ruder…

Didn’t know what the song was about. That’s quite the audience call back for a car accident! For some reason videos wouldn’t play?

His influence rippled across the music spectrum and he was not for everyone but he left his mark on modern music. IMO.

Until no one will insure you, then what? I love CA, but it’s getting hard to stay…not that I have any options.
Received notice of non renewal on my auto insurance policy. Excellent driving record. Had to jump through hoops to reinstate the policy. Then four months later received a notice of non renewal on my home owners/fire/earthquake/umbrella policies, never had a claim in the 10 years living here, again jumping through hoops to hopefully get them reinstated using California Fair plan for fire coverage. My insurance agent has informed me the policy costs will probably double, rivaling my mortgage payment. Seems like insurers would prefer not to write policies in CA right now. Add to that a bit of talk at the State level of implementing an exit tax on net wealth next year and it looks like I’m outta here if possible this calendar year. Shame, because CA really is a beautiful state, but I figure I can visit it as often as I want and not have to deal with the financial antics that have become the norm here.

It's strange as that is the typical issue, but my homeowners insurance went from $2500 to $2000 when it renewed on 5/1. Didn't change the coverage. Umbrella stayed the same and cars went up a small amount. I didn't ask why.

over $100 for a cab cover...
Harbor Freight, $4.99. I have one of these over everything in the back of the gigmobile, plus windows are factory dark tinted and have privacy screens on the inside. Look in the rear side and/or rear window and ya can't see :poop:!

I was going to say, that's not the lyrics to that song on the album I have. Haha
