Question regarding Babicz bridge.. what am I doing wrong here?? I can't seem to get the screws to go into the bass it's too tight. Tried lubricant.. The screws look the same dimensions as the ones I took out too.View attachment 6979701
Is the bridge new? If so, did you get the one for Epi and not Gibson? Also, if the inserts are not installed perfectly straight, you will encounter issues installing a Babicz or a Hipshot. The three point is more forgiving re this issue.

I put a Hipshot on my SG Bass and it didn’t come with the right screws. Hipshot said it would take a few weeks for right screws so I went to local hardware and bought SS Allen heads. I was going to use temporarily until right screws came but they grew on me so I left them…plus Allen wrench made it a breeze and no tatty bits!

Those actually look cool on the modernesque Hipshot.

Just got home from a gig(second in 2 nights-don't think I could pull a double anymore). Had trouble both nights with output from the '67NR. Too late tonight to f---* with it, but gonna check it with my practice amp tomorrow. Have a not-funny feeling it's gonna be headed for 'the shop' since I have almost no idea what to do beyond plug it in, pluck strings, make noises. I have a suspicion wassup, but not how to fix it. And rather than f---** something up, if it acts up tomorrow I'll take it in. If I do, I'll ask the guy to check on the superfluous pup while he's at it. Looks like the Embassy will be up for a while. Which is kinda why I bought it.

What kind of issues are you experiencing?

Oh man! Hopefully the output jack. EZ to fix/replace.

The bridge was new. I got it from bass direct and it was labelled as Gibson/chrome. The bridge is extremely tight and locked in which is good and staying put now. Well for my lifetime at least 🤣

Well, easier than that. Got to thinking about it and decided to start with simple [stuff]. opened up the amp(straight)end of my cable and waddaya know. One effing little hair sized strand of copper wire touching the other side of the jack. Cut. Voila. No $ expended.:bassist:

Glad you got it figured out. How old was that cord?

Typical that the least expensive component can take down the whole system.
