Looks more plum to me but I can see it going either way.Finish looks Burgundy Mist Metallic in that lighting.
I like happy endings tooI love a story with a happy ending!
Any new photos of the Vette project?Only 12 pages behind!
This is the thing about all guitar finish colours, especially aged lacquer versions. As they age they change in a number of ways depending on circumstances; nicotine, UV rays and heat the most predominant. Taking BMM as an example - just google "Burgundy Mist Metallic guitar - images" and the page will be filled with various shades and hues. If a bass or guitar sat in a temperature controlled case since 1964 - it would be a definitive BMM from that period. Otherwise all BMM guitars & basses (& cars) will age/change depending on what they went through for 50yrs. When I had MJT do my J in BMM - they had about 4-5 different versions to choose from. I simply chose one I liked.Looks more plum to me but I can see it going either way.
Ha! that wearing of the finish looks like a cartoon map of the USA!This is the thing about all guitar finish colours, especially aged lacquer versions. Here’s one that I did in Burgundy Mist Nitro. This is the thing about all guitar finish colours, especially aged lacquer versions. No, but he replaced it with a better tube, so I happy with the change. Thanks for mentioning that though. Very valid point if he installed something crappy. He wanted warmer and got it with the Eden tube, which is exactly in my direction. When I asked he said he should have mentioned it, but it was a good many years ago he didn't think of it until I asked. He has has it at least 10 yrs. Seems like a nice guy--from east AZ. We been having some nice bass discussions since the sale (ebay).Did the seller disclose the switch before you bought it? If not, they owe you a tube.
That was the VetteAny new photos of the Vette project?
Of course it’s purple. Stage lighting does interesting things. It’s one of the most gorgeous Thunderbirds out there, IMO.It's purple. just different colored light causing it to change, it's a Poly finish so it's not going to fade anytime soon.
Was a really fun show to play last night, 45 minutes is sweet and we kept it tight, had a lot of fun and the band we opened for really liked what we did so
there will be more shows together with them.
Still learning to sing, I'd quite forgotten what a big, clanky *&^%#$@!(* that bass old bass is!

Given my electronics expertise, it sounds like it's toast. I'll send you a couple Epi VPs in a trade for the one bass that doesn't work. Fair enough? Please drink copious amounts of whatever flavor of the month flavored whiskey you have on hand before deciding.Just got home from a gig(second in 2 nights-don't think I could pull a double anymore). Had trouble both nights with output from the '67NR. Too late tonight to f---* with it, but gonna check it with my practice amp tomorrow. Have a not-funny feeling it's gonna be headed for 'the shop' since I have almost no idea what to do beyond plug it in, pluck strings, make noises. I have a suspicion wassup, but not how to fix it. And rather than f---** something up, if it acts up tomorrow I'll take it in. If I do, I'll ask the guy to check on the superfluous pup while he's at it. Looks like the Embassy will be up for a while. Which is kinda why I bought it.

Happy endings for everyone!I love a happy ending with a good story.![]()
Just finishing this one up. Pine body, nitro relic finish, Dunable T-Bird pickup, CTS pots, NOS PIO cap, switchcraft jack, Gotoh Resolite tuners. Still need to do a couple setup things, but it sounds killer and weighs UNDER 8lbs .

I guess our deal is off now.... But that's fantastic if was so simple. Most of the time is seems things aren't that easy to fix. Great news. Other than the no deal part.Well, easier than that. Got to thinking about it and decided to start with simple [stuff]. opened up the amp(straight)end of my cable and waddaya know. One effing little hair sized strand of copper wire touching the other side of the jack. Cut. Voila. No $ expended.![]()
