Thunderbird Club

Drone footage from my last gig. (The music is not us)

I haven't considered car-shows ... did you tap into a car-show music organization to get gigs? I should look into that but I imagine they would be down the Peninsula or in Marin. (not in SF other than the Mission and we wouldn't fit in there...)

Question regarding Babicz bridge.. what am I doing wrong here?? I can't seem to get the screws to go into the bass it's too tight. Tried lubricant.. The screws look the same dimensions as the ones I took out too.View attachment 6979701
IIRC - Epiphone basses use metric threaded bolts and annchors and Gibson basses use SAE spec threads. You might have the wrong bolts for the anchors that are in the bass. If in fact they are the wrong bolts and you successfully forced them in, the threads on the anchors or bolts or both may be pretty well buggered up. If so, it’s best to let a sleeping dog lay, as long as they seem to be holding, don’t remove them unless you really feel you need to.

LOL - at first glance I thought you were showing off your matchbox car collection.
Looks like a great time.

3 set show tomorrow night in Sausalito at the No Name Bar. It'll be our fourth show there. Drummer Phil requested I leave my "Bond Girl" bass at home and bring my '63 Burns of London Vista Sonic medium-scale w/flats. (British, Bond...) It will be the first time I use it live. Fun! :bassist:

You found it irresistible because it is irresistible. (Including the headstock.)
While I prefer the purple (it's my favorite color), the blue is pretty amazing. I'm surprised no one has done a green or red. Not so much orange or yellow; those would truly be custom shop.

As my elder, I respectfully say you don't understand tubes well at all. Has nothing to do with electric pulses (who believes that?), it's the sound bouncing around in the tubes that amplifies the sound. All the weird metal stuff in the tubes does is help the sound to bounce around differently as it's reflected in various directions. That's why each tube style sounds different. I thought everyone knew this. ;) :smug:
Right! And the old metal tubes sounded very tinny - hence, tinnitus ins so many of your elders.

Likely everyone knew this but me, but if you want an emoji, you can begin typing " :Thun..." and it will bring up the thunder cloud to choose. Same with other emoji's if you know what to type. ⛈️

Some of them turn into a whole page thing like the one below..... 🐶 :emoji_smile_cat:

At least stay tuned for pics last week of July.
That’s when this year's GTG happens.

I'll be waiting xD

Good to see you, even if it was just a drive-by ... whoever you are this week!

Ah no sweat, i'm not changing who am I :)

Babicz offers both variants of Gibson & Epiphone 3 point replacement bridges. As long as you have the correct one for your branded bass, everything should fit perfectly.

The guys that run Jellybean Autocrafters are childhood friends. They had been out to see my previous cover band, so when their Canada Day show resumed after covid they called me.

I had an inquiry for another event next year, but it was 1.5 hours away and we probably quoted more than they wanted to pay. I haven't heard back. I won't do those sorts of shows without a sound person that brings all the gear. Apparently we could be heard quite clearly across the whole site.
We were under the white tent:
