Thunderbird Club

Love it Geo! Possibly my favorite song from your band. It hits all my sweet spots…

Starts out in a free unstructured trippy laid back Grateful Dead type jam, then expertly evolves into a Mazzy Star meets Nancy Sinatra vocal track overlaying a Nick Cave band vibe, goes back to some trippy mood defining instrumentals mid way through, followed by those awesome Mazzy/Nancy vocals, wrapping up in a deconstructed free form individual instrument fade out, and of course chatter at the end to remind us this track isn’t supposed to be formal as much as it is supposed to be mood altering.

Superbly executed by the band! No single member of the band was in lead, it all just flowed and swelled in complete unison, almost like a living organism.

Pass my congrats on to the entire band and the sound engineers that brought this together, and by all means, do more stuff along this very same line, it’s a rare style of music these days and might have a huge following.

FWIW - I’ve always loved the Stones version (one of the few songs of theirs I really like) but by comparison, they sound more structured, more formal (cheesy synth could have been left out) and more sterile than your bands take, they have less emotion and mood. I like your version much better than theirs. Do more!
Wow - much thanks for your kind words George. It was recorded at our rehearsal space by our Paul and pretty low-tech, but I agree we were all in the same head-space playing-wise. (no LSD was present!) We have another recording of it from a Santa Cruz cable TV show we did a few years ago. I like our rehearsal space recording better, but here's the other one for comparison -

I like your other version MUCH better. Everything clicked on that one. This one doesn’t have the vocal track far enough forward in the mix and the instrumental sections sound more sterile. The other one is absolutely perfect.

Would love to hear your bands take on this song…

FedMess story of the day. I had a customer down and shipped them a replacement part via International Overnight. Took 10 days to arrive. I told them I wanted a credit for the $63 fee since they didn't deliver in a timely fashion. They told me that they don't guarantee delivery and I don't get a credit, but I do get a $5 late fee. Good luck getting paid for either.

Gee, Dominos Pizza at least gives you the pizza free if they don’t deliver on time. :roflmao:

Cool - never heard that one. Kind of a raw spacey blues that has a similar vibe to 2K Miles etc.., I dig it - thanks for posting! We ran Fade Into You in rehearsal but we never played it live. There's a couple of cool (and different) versions of it I really like -

One of the many reasons I never ship F'dEx

They never cease to amaze. In a bad way. Which is why I never use them unless it's not my option.
They could mess up a two car funeral...
Couldn't pour urine of of a bucket with the directions on the bottom...
As my dad liked, Couldn't grab their butt with both hands. (Never knew why one would want to do so...)

Tweetchie zone. I've been to ~16 Chicago concerts. Stones-0. 'Zackly the way I like it.
I'd like to see both. For Chicago, I'd want most of their music to be from the first three albums... Stones I'd want mainly mid-60s to mid-70s. No clue how likely either is.

Hey, now. I play it on my TBird and sing it-about 1/2 again faster. :smug:
And toot the train whistle B4 we start and at the end of each verse while 'hammering' the bass notes with my left hand.
