Yes!!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

My cover band couldn't all get together to rehearse before our last gig, so we just did a vocal session to work out harmonies. We nailed the new tunes, but there were some pretty loose endings on some of the older stuff. I would put a smiling emoji here, but those don't seem to work today!
😢 No, the forum emojis seem to be ill. Keyboard emojis work, though.

I’m pretty sure it’s the bigger one also. I’m not keen on the big body birds. Just my personal opinion, but there’s two things thunderbirds don’t need - bigger bodies and bigger headstocks.
I generally agree. I could deal with a slightly larger body. The headstocks? No. Slightly smaller with slightly smaller cloverkeaf (or normal Y / Batwing) tuners would be ideal, IMO.

It's weird, I guess, but we're so familiar with the tunes and each other that that isn't necessary.

I used the Ashdown ABM again today, this time with a bass that needed no "fixing." The '64 Thunderbird. I knew what it did with basses having similar issues to my dislike, but what would happen with one that sounded perfect already. Verdict: Thunderbirds and Ashdowns are a great match. I boosted the mids slightly, and the two high mid sliders just a little and never EQed after that. Sounded great, even with no BBE Sonic Stomp. I am curious what other EQing would yield, but I plenty happy and never felt the need to fool with it. I can't say it sounded better than the Ampeg, just different in a good way. A former sound guy said he could hear me better. I suspect the tighter sound projects better. I can't picture getting rid of my Ampeg tube head, but I certainly could be happy and content with just the ABM. Very impressed so far. But it's still not making me play like Chuck....

good to hear Donnie! Ashdowns are fast and have a high damping factor, two attributes that further highlight the pluses of TBird pups…haven’t tried the 64 through mine but every other Bird sounds stellar though it…..

Thx. It' funny how it literally changed what I was hearing with the two trouble basses, yet with the one that was perfect already it didn't drastically change what I normally hear from it. A little different, but nothing like the other two basses. I was a little concerned it would help those two and possibly not sound all that good with others. Not the case so far. I loving that head. I could definitely live with that being my normal amp at this rate.
